OK moving forward. In movies like these you need protagonists and antagonists. Regardless if they stay in space aboard a ship or land on a new planet or revisit LV223 or LV426 or Planet 4 they will need protagonists. At the end of Alien Covenant David was piloting the Covenant with the surviving crew members (Daniels and Tennessee) as well as the 2000 cryo frozen colonists at his mercy. Lets face it, as it stands now none of these characters should ever wake up again, besides being experimented on. But an entire movie of David "winning" and just experimenting on people who were asleep wont work as their wont be any interaction and thus no protagonists. Also if the next movie includes Daniels and Tennessee or some of the cryo colonists there will have to be a plot device or event that saves them, as i mentioned above David holds all, and i do mean all the cards currently. so how will we get our protagonists?? and what path will the movie follow??
After viewing Alien, Prometheus and AC twice recently and being observant, i have a few options:
1.** Walter regenerates and either finds another vessel or repairs the crashed juggernaut coming after David to rescue Daniels and Tennessee in an effort to fulfill what he calls duty but David calls love. This would allow us to have our protagonists, Walter, Daniels and Tennessee warring it out against or trying to escape David and other powers clutches. It would be good cinema, as the two polar viewpoints battling it out for an entire movie, one for survival and salvation of humanity and the other for domination would be great. You could still work in elements of engineers or even a race of high beings etc, but the concepts of duty, love, creation, creator vs creation, what it means to be human and to have a soul would all be at play here.
2.**Another option would be that David experiments on Daniels and Tennessee and something or some sequence of events wakes up some of the colonists on the ship and they become our new heroes or protagonists to outwit David and survive.
3. ** What if the Engineers (LV223 style), or some higher power race of beings responsible for the black goo , attack the Covenant causing it to crash on a moon or planet before David can do is experiments on the sleeping humans, and in their attempt to seek retribution or revenge on David for his actions they inadvertently wake up Daniels and Tennessee and perhaps a few of the colonists. This could be cool as it would force the surviving humans to possibly join forces with this evil android David to attempt to survive an onslaught from the Engineers or demi-god race of beings and the evil and creations they unleash. Be some good drama having to trust the one thing they know they cant truly trust in efforts to survive this scenario.
4.** There is always the possibility that they will introduce yet another ship full of humans to play protagonists to run into David. In this scenario he would already have done his evil on the Covenant crew and frozen colonists and these new ship full of characters would have to deal with David and his creations. I find this scenario the least likely as there are NOT that many ships flying this deep in space and the odds of accidentally running into David would be remote and it would feel a little contrived and repetitive.

Considering all of the criteria i mentioned above before i listed my list of possible options....
What do you all think? Which option do find more likely or combinations of those options do you find likely? Please discuss this is what is fun about this stuff folks...excited to see your thoughts...

MemberChestbursterMay-24-2017 1:47 PMA new ship heading for a dark stormy planet picks up a distress signal from another dark stormy planet and lands there because Protocol (of F*** All Humans).
There, shit hits the fan and everybody dies except a strong female character (surprise!) who shoots, shoots while cursing, runs and climbs.
When she's done with that she records a final message about what happened.
Nah just kidding, your options are good btw. Personally I don't have a clear theory about a certain path throughout in my mind right now, but I think it will start off where A:C ended; W-Y get the message and send out a rescue ship despite David's effort to possibly stop any kind of rescue attempt.
We follow an entirely new crew aboard a smaller vessel heading towards the ship or Origae-6. Colonial Marines would be awesome.
When they reach the Covenant, David is nowhere to be found (because I think you should wait until later in the film before showing off the villain David) but Daniels and Tennessee are woken up and everything seems fine until (flashforward) the ending were Daniels or Tennessee get chestbursted (it took longer for Lope to get chestbursted) in a dramatic scene.
David, obviously being a key figure in this new storyline, will survive and probably keep creating more monstrosities while being all philosophical about it.

I totally forgot to list the possibility of a military rescue ship of sorts ...good addition into the list

MemberOvomorphMay-24-2017 2:40 PMYeah, I've kind of moved on from A:C since I saw it yesterday. SO much is left opened ended that they can almost literally do anything, which I guess is the saving grace of the movie. I do hope we see at least Daniels survive as I'm tired of David as the antagonist being the only continuity in these things.
I guess I wonder if they are going to go the route of David going to Origae and perfecting his creations before releasing them on earth, in which case someone or something would have to stop them. In my mind, that would be an incredibly climax and you could reintroduce the Engineers. What's more likely is that humans will have to play a big role to make the story relatable to an audience. I think a kind of constant and something that we know is that David wants to wipe out humanity, which at least implies he wants to get back to earth. I think one of the most suspensful parts of the movie was when Walter calmly but forcefully tells David that he can't let him leave the planet. The next movie(s) have to be about keeping David from earth or basically anywhere else with life because of his genocidal tendancies.

MemberOvomorphMay-24-2017 2:40 PMAll i can say is that after prometheus , i was yearning for more , ant was so psyked about the continue of david and shaw`s journey and what they would find. After AC, i feel nothing, could`t care less to what david and his xeno creations will end up doing. I think RS has painted himself into a corner with AC.

MemberOvomorphMay-24-2017 3:24 PMWhat are we left with at the end of this movie? David has no black goo - or maybe he can regurgitate a vial of it to add to the two facehugger embryos. The Covenant ship is damaged from the last recharging phase (or whatever that was) and flying into the plasma storm on Paradise.
David needs a new ship and black goo to continue his mission.

MemberFacehuggerMay-25-2017 10:24 AMperhaps he has black goo on his person an we just arent aware of that....they could easily write that into the sotry line without it being a big deal or flaw
