*SPOILERS* Shaw's "Distress" Signalm

For those who enjoy picking at soundtrack symbolism, what are your theories on the John Denver transmission? I know music is universal and maybe Holloway was a country fan but Shaw being British it just seems strange that she would pick a John Denver song to transmit of all things. Maybe I'm reading too much into the plot choice of using John Denver..I know he was a huge advocate for space exploration so maybe the film crew were just paying tribute?

Moving onto the nature of the signal itself, I don't believe that Shaw was all there when she made that distress signal, possibly from experimentation by David, mental distress from it, physical mutations, etc...possibly even manipulated by him to perform the transmission in an effort to lure more hosts in for his experiments which obviously prove to be successful with the Covenant crew.

I think Shaw was learning the Juggernaut tec in that Hologram, she appears to be happy and that's why she is singing?

David/MUTHUR/W-Y merely sent that snippet as bait for the Covenant.

I often wonder if David recorded her covertly while she was singing, en route to the engineers planet, then simply broadcast that after the crash as a "distress call".
