This sparked a long line of thought for me. The ideas that it created for me I thought I will share with the crew.
During the film, there was a scene where either David or Walter said a line. The thing is, it was a bit of dialogue from the original Bladerunner. When I heard it my ears popped up. With all the excitement of the movie, I have forgotten what was said, but I'm so sure is was from Bladerunner.
Taking into consideration that there is meant to be some sort of connection between Weyland and Bladerunner(not confirmed by RS). Maybe David will destroy humanity and populate the earth with Androids.
That was my first line of thought. Now my second line of thought. Maybe we have been looking at the whole 'company wants the Alien for its bioweapons division' thing wrong. Considering how David talked about the Alien he created was very similar to the way Ash talked about the Alien.
Perhaps, Ash the late replacement science officer wasn't sent by a company executive, but by another Android to complete Davids work. Some sort of infiltration. Big company, who would miss something like crew replacement.

I think it was the question David asked Walter. "When you sleep. Do you dream of me?" Which is a highly philosophical question. Do androids dream of electric sheep. So yes, there is a connection.
