Inspired by M577, what are some dreams you had? This is wide open and does not have to relate to the Alien world at all. I guess I should start.
I awoke one morning feeling wide awake. I sensed light above my closed eyes and figured it was time to get up. I could not move though. Strange but I felt comfortable. I tried to move my limbs to no avail. I heard city stuff as usual around me. I noticed an itch in my back that I had to scratch and had to really put forth effort to move- SNAP- then I realized I was scratching my back in the dark and there was no city noise around. I realized that very realistic scenario was a strange form of a dream- it only happened in my head.
Please share!

One of the strangest dreams I ever had wasn't a 'dream'...I went to sleep, and was awakened only a few minutes later...which in fact was 9 hours later.
Somehow, someway my brain misfired on dreaming...and although I had 9 hours of solid sleep, I felt like I hadn't had any at all...
I'll take a stark, screaming-monkey-brain, terror-inducing nightmare over that any day!
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING

An excerpt I wrote from a song about dream analysis long ago and for what it is worth:
Do they make you insane?
Brought to face your inner pain?
Searching out what's to blame?
I find no meaning- I just enjoy the ride!

Hmm...yeah, that sums up Dreaming in a nice little package :D

Blackwinter-witch I have had similar situations but of lesser actual duration. It is a strange feeling indeed. The brain/mind is fascinating how it works-or doesn't. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting...
Sadly i dont dream... remember i am David and i dont have a Soul lol
Seriously i dont dream much, when i do they are bizarre and strange dreams often not related to anything like this.
I do however day dream/think of stuff a lot, as i have a condition where my brain does not shut off unless there is a decent amount of Sunlight lol Among other things... YEP MRI Scan still no closer to figuring it out

Ha ha i can explain a common type of dream i have...
When i do fall asleep.. i can like wake up need the toilet, sit up and get out of bed then wham... back asleep just woken up and repeat and this happens over and over each time i get closer to the toilet.... until i finally manage to use the toilet go to wash my hands.... then wham... back at the start again.
Like Groundhog day... so i basically dreaming i go to the toilet in stages... very odd and stressful.
I have similar where i get a lot of out of body experiences where i go for a walk but look back and see my body and then wham... i back at square one...
These kinds of dreams are so real that its scary as each time it feels like real life... and at times its stressful because your wrestling sometimes to wake up, then you do and get a few steps then your back in your body and starts over.

I practically dream every single day, even I just take a nap for 15 minutes or so I can still make a bizarre instant dream.
There are some dreams that still stick my brain over the years. Some are mysterious, some are enlightening. But they all become somewhat blurred and unreal. I say unreal because those dreams were once so tangible to me, there involved "people" touching, and fell into categories which I suspected my own existence. They were frightening but also fascinating.
I had similar dreams that @dk and @blackwinter-witch encountered. It was like time has twisted and didn't have meaning at all.

@bigdave wow I never had out of body experience. I always wonder what it's like, seeing my own body sounds so scary to me lol

BigDave I started sweating just reading that. I couldn't imagine going through that during waking consciousness especially the repeating the toilet thing. I recently had a dream where I was in the back of a furniture removal truck in the front of my house. As soon as I tried to walk out this person grabbed me and pushed me further into the truck so I couldn't leave. I thought I was being kidnapped! Tried getting out but he wrestled me to the ground over and over. A very asphyxiating feeling. I finally slipped out and instantly woke up, realising it was all a dream. It scared the **** out of me.
Have you thought of cannabis or CBD oil? Crazy that you've had scans and they've no idea what it is. As someone who has been through extreme anxiety in the past and thought I was losing my mind I feel for you man. I hope it doesn't bother you too much and you can find some closure with it.

I have a pretty terrible memory but one of the most bizarre dreams I've had involved me stumbling across this device, similar to a camera which allowed me to tune into another city in real time. It was so much fun. Quite a bummer waking up from that one.
Blackwinter-witch I've had similar experiences to the one you describe yet on the opposite scale, for me it's more like I've just started to doze off. I'm in the hypnagogic state right before light sleep but I'm also no longer consciously-awake. I don't even think I'm dreaming yet but the concepts my subconscious brain thinks up are so bizarre that they themselves wake me up. Then I realise it's only been a few minutes since I dozed off, I then also notice I can't recall even ONE thing from my pseudo-dream, no matter how hard I flex my brain lol.
It's hard to explain and only happens once or twice a month.

The only time I have had an experience where you sleep and wake up almost instantly but loads of time has passed is during my spinal operation.
It was a 9-hour op and I remember getting the injection and it was like a moment had passed and my head was hurting where the screws were to keep head still but it was wired.
My most realistic dream was me flying in the clouds it was as though i was there.
Space wise dreams have always been had, I have a telescope and I often view jupiter (which is amazing by the way) and saturn which is even better but more rare to see where i live.

Brain needs to come with an owner's manual, I swear, and a troubleshooting guide :D
Ask them about your Melatonin levels...there's an interesting biochem shift that normally happens in the body when it gets sunlight/daylight (as we're supposed to) and then when night falls.
This might help you when talking to your Dr.

EVERYONE dreams. Every single person. It is impossible not to. The REM to deep sleep portions of the night (if you get there) then virtually erases everything your brain dreamt. That's why you almost NEVER remember a dream, unless it wakes you up, or you have a very abbreviated or restless/fitful sleep.
Dreams are fun though! I only wish I could have recorded EVERY one of mine...I would have several novels and many more songs to add to my repertoire! Hopefully one day we will get a"dream recorder" like we saw in Prometheus!

Do you guys ever in dream where yourself hearing a very good song or encountering a very good storyline, which you swear to God that is the most beautiful song/plot ever?

@Starlogger, it would be awesome if there is a dream recorder. Just hope it require a password to access, not like how David sneaking into people's dream lol

@Jonesy I know right! it'd have to be encrypted, cuz I don't think my wife would need to see EVERY one of mine ;)

WOW! This is fascinating to read everyone's experiences! Thanks!
Starlogger is correct about REM but different things can affect or disrupt it.
Another type of dream I have about twice a month is that I get up and do the morning routine but little things are out of place and before leaving I wake and realize it never happened.
One last type- Often while dozing a dream state starts to set in pleasantly and then I realize I am falling asleep and am jarred awake dang it!

@BigDave OBE's used to have them when i was young, knew they were going to happen, starts off with a slow humming noise in your head that gets faster until body seperation, i know a lot of people may think its crazy, but when it happens can be a little alarming, the mind is an amazing thing and the dream state to be able to create and destroy scenarios in your dream world.
