I think there may be a plasma shot against the juggernaut which makes it crash nearby and fries those beneath...are there any survivors then, did they fly out or head off to a safe place in the planet? Surely this will be another unanswered question as usual..David is one psychotic robot, not to mention a narcissist. Did he lie about feeling thankful for being created? One could see him crying with emotions then, does he not have a sense of fear, compassion, empathy.
I feel David saw something within the ship's info, pondered and decided to commit and act of war, only a war mindset enables such cruel force of action, like American drones strikes in the middle east, like the recent bombings of Syria. These are acts of war, true genocide on the other hand is what Engineers do. Why is David wanting to create the alien Engineers fear and revere like we saw on the mural? Does he want to use them in a cosmic war? He knows something is still ahead...Where the aliens brought back by David to use as a weapon against Engineers and maybe humans too.

MemberOvomorphMay-05-2017 6:20 AMI get the impression, from the trailers that the type of engineer we saw in Prometheus is possibly a soldier/ worker or some sort of different type of humanoid that lives on the planet David and Shaw arrive at in Covenant.
Why would they send their top / most intelligent guys into space in ships full of dangerous cargo- surely the fatcats, intellectuals or those in control are not sent out to military bases full of chemical weapons - that would be the grunts jobs..... or perhaps this is a different faction /species / engineers altogether on the homeworld...
But I agree that the black goo should dissolve the people we see in the trailers/clips on the home planet in much the same way it did the sacrificial engineer.

The goo used is a vast amount and may have different outcomes on how much is used.
Too much just may destroy DNA completely compared to small amounts.

MemberFacehuggerMay-05-2017 9:11 AMThe goo is likely to be programmable, so if david learns this, it could be done by acoustics or sonic methods and it could be 'set' to explode and paralyse whatever it touches. Maybe some of it backfires and brings the juggernaut and scorpion down.
