MemberPraetorianApr-28-2017 9:22 PMNice job, BigDave !!
Hubby and I experiment with homebrewing as well, also home distilling (very small scale, so there's no legal troubles as we have a License) as hubby is trying to perfect a Bourbon recipe he developed.

MemberTrilobiteApr-29-2017 1:00 AMLots of good stuff out there but I am no beer snob. I like Henry Weinhard's as a regular and I don't care how much you laugh!

MemberOvomorphApr-29-2017 1:48 PMI moved over from extract-brewing to all-grain brewing about 7 years ago, but you can definitely make some great beer with an extract kit. Best advice I can give is to opt for a blow-off tube into a bucket of sanitizer solution for your fermenter/carboy instead of messing with airlocks, just in case the krausen goes bonkers.
Best of luck, BigDave! Cheers!
