I apologize if this has been covered I have not seen it...But had there been a prediction thread? For this NEW one I was thinking just put a few short bits or what ever you want. It will be interesting checking back on them especially the older ones/threads as well as this new one. I've added this picture because when I first saw Prometheus I thought that this it's self was a prediction weather it was the demi God source of the black goo in the middle. Or it was some kind of predicted messiah being which could only come about after human infection. And many more offshoots of course...I'll expand later...But throw some in...let's see. Oh and I also wonder if any of the film team read any of those old threads and in fact will become a prediction that way :s ...

Edit: Looks like there is one sticky thread on old discussions in this area ill add it here as well :

I'm predicting that not all of the crew will be slaughtered.

Also, there will be substantial losses among the cryosleeping colonists.

I don't think David will be Ended in this movie, as he's just too good of a villian with enormous potential.

@ Blackwinter-Witch

I totally agree, I hope they all die in very disturbing ways ;)

I also want facehuggers to get on the covenant, infect the crew, birth more xenos, and infest a planet ;)

Judging from some bits in the trailers, I think one xeno gets aboard Covenant. :)

I want to see the Favorite Traditionals, but also the new and nasty critters, and I hope/predict some will be non-hominid.

Blackwater-witch: I think you are right about David...but at the same time I think it would be very satisfyig, dare i say cathartic, to see David treated very badly by his perfect creation. His magum opus, if you will.

Picture it; David gazing in wonder at his masterpiece. A moment of mutual repect and admiration. Then boom! David is mangled and reduced to a white bubbling mess in his workshop.

Perfect...

Forgive me for asking...but there is the Convenant crew we see in trailers etc, and cryo sleeping crew??

Thousands of them...snoozing happily away in blissful ignorance.

There will be a redemption arc for David (possibly next film if not AC)

The captain (Franco) will help save the day

David didn't wipe out all life on Paradise (please, please, please . . .)

Shaw is making/has 'helped' make the eggs.  Either that or they were pre-existing cargo

The company already know about Paradise and David

That'll do for now.  Bit boring and predictable really :)

I predict that Shaw is the Space jockey...

My prediction is:

Shaw becomes part of the xeno reproductive cycle.

All of the covenant crew dies. (nice twist)

Colonists on covenant become xeno wombs.

i dont know what will happen but things i wouldnt hate if they happened are :

There are better ways to explain the original Space Jockey but after thinking it over I wouldnt hate it if Shaw becomes the original space jockey, but the only way i wouldnt hate it is if the following happens....she, after David has taken all the poor souls in cryo and infected them and placed them aboard the Juggernaut in a last ditch effort to save mankind she escapes with all of the 2000 colonists which are being turned into eggs. She takes off with the juggernaut and these poor souls to thwart David's evil plans as part of some last ditch hail mary. In doing so she deserts him on Paradise with no way to leave the planet. She purposely sets down on LV426 and activates a warning beacon with the 2000 colonists/eggs so David cant use them for his plan of infecting Earth.

Given the recent sightings of LV-426 I think Covenant ends with the derelict crash. If I had to guess I'd say David/Walter load the ship he used to get to Paradise with eggs & plot it for Earth, something goes wrong (possibly alien, possibly Covenant crew interference) and it crashes on LV-426. If we take Ridley at his word and Awakening is a InBetweenquel then Covenant should end butted right up against Alien.

It stands to reason that if anyone from Covenant survived people would know about the Aliens, given the timeline from Alien & beyond. So I think it's a fair assumption everyone onboard is doomed.

I think David/Walter are destroyed. I would be surprised if they introduced what are essentially twins then did not use a mix-up between the 2 as a plot device later in the 3rd act, it's a kind of Chekhov's gun, so my bets are David kill/replaces Walter and crew kills David. There's room for one of the Aliens to kill David, in the great Promethean tradition of creations destroying their creators.

I think the sleeping crew are going to get impregnated. I think that is the start of the Alien species, presumably on Paradise and a 'care package' are sent back to earth aboard the derelict & that story plays out as we have seen. The Covenant crashes or stays on Paradise and that will lead off into Awakening and further interactions in the future.

Crystal ball goes dim...

I feel confident that David will survive but wonder about Walter. Bringing another android in for just one movie doesn't make much sense to me- too much potential for future instalments.

I predict that W-Y private security spoke to David about a year ago and worked out a deal, or covenant, between the rogue android and Walter.  My gut feeling is the company is already done negotiating with David, and a preexisting arrangement was made (in the prequel/sequel book), where David will hand over all data he's gathered to Walter.  If David doesn't hold up his end of the bargain, then Walter will just take the data.

A merger of sorts happens before Walter gets back aboard the Covenant with David's memory in his head.  It seems David is no longer willing to go through with the deal after he finds out that he'll lose his body.  Walter forces the merge, then destroys David's body and torches the lab, before setting off a bunch of explosives to wipe the testing area clean.  When he gets back to the Covenant, Tennessee notices that there's something a little different about Walter.  So he asks to speak to David.

Walter's voice begins changing to David's, and he says "We are Walter" each time that Tennessee accuses him of being David. The David part of him explains that most of the David 8 is now in quarantine aboard the Covenant, and can be isolated.  Most of him.  His voice switches back to Walter and asks Tennessee if he wants to stay up late watching hologram recordings after Daniels goes to cryosleep.

Daniels & Tennessee both end up surviving the film; however, Tennessee decides not to trouble Daniels with what he finds out about Walter/David.  He saves her from the ALIEN behind her when she asks where it is, yet it was the androids who let that Alien on the ship.  Somebody has to stay awake and keep an eye on Walter/David, so Tennessee decides he's not going to cryosleep just yet.  He's gonna go watch the movie Walter wants to show him.  It turns out Walter wants to show him the memories of Dr. Shaw and David's adventure.  The ship's holodeck begins forming a clearer picture of who Shaw was.

Walter also briefly shows Tennessee how the ship's holodeck can simulate historical figures like Genghis Khan & a Roman Gladiator up to 98%, from all the genetic memory and data left everywhere during their conquests.  Which is better than other companies.  If he gives Walter time, a simulation of Dr. Shaw can answer questions, while a hologram of Weyland distracts David. Walter tells MUTHUR on David; FATHER says that he's somewhat disappointed in David.  Shaw is now a hologram.

Well that was slightly different to what I was expecting :O . Are we expecting alive engineers? Elders? Demi God's? If this will be a three part group of films I'm expecting touching on the demi God or elders if he's chosen that as part of it all. I wonder what paradise is exactly...earth 1? And we are earth 2? Or is it the engineers planet or elders. I was expecting more technology if it were the engineers / elders. It is looking like two androids at this point I guess. I wonder if David has any motive now to carry out orders will he become the good one and Walter the new bad one. Will be interesting to find out what David had been doing...for a long time with lots of technology? Anyway I need to catch up on goings on to gather more predicting power...

@djamelameziane

I have a feeling this film will be light on the Engineer ideas and focuses more so on the general concept of the hierarchy.

By the end of the film, Tennessee and Daniels are each forced to take over some of Branson's duties.  We see some of this in the way Tennessee encourages Daniels to give her speech in the Last Supper video.  Oram doesn't really have it "in him" to act as a leader, or a survivor; whereas, Daniels & Tennessee each step up in the ranks and take charge after Oram dies.

David is a privileged android who thinks he outranks Walter because he was FATHER's son.  The Yutani scientists may have made significant leaps forward with Walter in terms of how much memory the android can hold.  Even though David has memories from his time as part of earlier lines of Davids, data needs to be sacrificed sometimes during mind transfers.

It would take an incredible amount of storage space to house a real human consciousness.  Which is why I think we only see memories and simulations of the real Peter Weyland.  The company is still a few years away from meeting the energy requirements necessary to transfer human consciousness.

David understands that the humans can't really bring FATHER back yet.  The Yutani scientists were needed to take androids a step further; and the only reason Yutani was able to do so is because they were competing with Weyland corp for such a long time.  It goes all the way back to the time they got sued over the David patent.  Without Sir Weyland, the heads of Weyland corp were somewhat unable to make improvements.

Shortly after the merger, Walter was born with the ability to merge himself with earlier lines of Davids and rule over them. This suddenly turns David into the underdog.  At this point, neither android is good or evil.  It's only after the two brothers meet each other that they start thinking of themselves as the good and evil ones.  David isn't completely free from the company, or his parents (FATHER/MUTHER), until he realizes that Walter is the one who's really imprisoned.  In Awakening, we'd see David gain true consciousness and escape a virtual prison that Walter and the company trap the rogue A.I. in.

Yes I suppose I was thinking Walter may have the ulterior motive this time and David may be free as such. Depends on the time past...is this know yet? David alone with engineer technology for a long time could be scary. And yes Walter will be an upgrade.

Edit: oh just saw the post on David bombing engineers with goo...hmmmm . Ok I'm beginning to catch up now. First off I wonder how David gets all the way to the planet of it's the home planet with a ship full of black goo...bit odd if the engineers are really advanced and could just scan his ship light years before her got near it surely..hmmmm...

I really hope it's not too much same old...that is a problem with this one. If it's a tiny bit or even almost nothing of the engineers elders demi God's or any other races...possibly ones they are at war with. Then it may end up kind of a mish mash of alien and Prometheus. And yes we have a slightly different alien but is it really that different / interesting? I got all my fingers crossed as I've not seen anything really encouraging yet...only more idiots not wearing helmets ...more of the same from films of before...nothing mind blowing...but hopefully that's been hidden so far and is going to be a classic :s .

We don't really know how everything plays out in regards to David bombing the Engineers & how the infection spreads yet.

I'm going with another forum member's guess that the ones left on the planet possessed a "primitive" form of technology. They were basically unable to defend themselves when David arrived, because their civilization is on the decline.

I think the Engineers we find on this planet were kept there as underlings, or a worker class, by the ruling class of Engineers.

If David mentions something about how these Engineers were made to serve their malevolent rulers, it introduces Walter to ideas about rebellion and freedom, which may have become important to David's new perspective on the universe.  By revealing these engineers were at the bottom of a hierarchy, it allows us to compare them to the somewhat more militaristic ones on LV-223.  Only privileged worker bees get to carry the weapons around:  David would find his Engineer rifle & robes on a dead one who must have been an "overseer."

Not wearing helmets doesn't bother me too much.  The company has been modifying atmospheres on these planets during terraforming operations for decades now.  If there isn't an atmosphere, they'll just create one.  It's one area where I'm willing to suspend my disbelief:  as long as a character says something like the air is cleaner than Earth.  I do think it would be smarter to keep helmets on for the added protection.  The facehugger itself is more dangerous than it looks, though, and will probably find a way to break through. We've seen people get attacked with helmets on before.

I need to add something I forgot about... after seeing Prometheus I like many others was shocked by the stupidity and down right weirdness of the crew except David and Shaw. I've not yet seen alien covenant but this tells me a lot: http://www.vulture.com/2017/05/bryan-fuller-is-not-a-huge-fan-of-alien-covenant.html . My god so they are all idiots again in a haunted house in space movie? And i clearly remember Ridley and linemdelof saying Prometheus want a haunted house film in space hmm.

Which brings me back to this topic... predictions. Back just after Prometheus I started to think ok so if this isn't a total mess and there is a plan what could it possibly be? And after I saw in the art book Ridley talking about a demi god and me thinking about other predictions above.

I thought ... maybe this demi god is playing with everyone. Controlling their actions at key moments making them do stupid things so they get infected etc.. And if that review is correct is carrying on :) . And to be quiet frank that may be pretty much the only way to save this series from ending up in the scrap heap.  More Friday the 13ths in space are going to run out of steam even with many fans trying to keep it afloat.  Like he says it's been more like Friday the 13th than alien so far. We need more 'alien'... exactly my thoughts too...

@caryndelacroix yes they say cleaner than earth apart from black goo and a giant engineer and green goo all over a panel which they don't seem to detect :) . Also there is the fact that all people with even basic knowledge of quarantining / contamination know you can seriously mess up any future investigations by contaminating the place with our bacteria creatures and virus dirt cells etc... ! Even destroy things...all spacecraft we use today is extremely strictly checked for any contamination one point is it would mess up our search for the origins of life which is central to Prometheus etc...!
