Walter Name Origin

The significance of a name can be astonishing. Once revealed, the true meaning of a name and who wears it can add so much to the story.

From a Germanic name meaning "ruler of the army", composed of the elements wald "rule" and hari "army".

Walter's name origin sheds a light on aspects of his personality that may explain his traits below.

Walter's name and origin is not a random choice that provides an accidental coincidence in deeper meaning. Germany, with it's rich and very long and distinguished history provides very deep meaning when researching a name origin.

I'd have taken that slam about Canadians personally, but I'm Blackfoot first and foremost and do NOT Identify as 'canadian', for the reason why...have a look at History.

assuming for the people of a certain area of being overly polite isnt an insult, just a negative compliment.

man i can literally feel right now, how you slightly obsessive personalities are scouring through my comment history to make out some more 'proofs' at this very moment. right Ati? :D

Inquisitor Fifield

'Negative compliment'

that sounds like something a politician would claim to defend their actions/statements.

Foxxy_User, I'm not sure about David 8 or Walter ruling the xenomorphs.

I am very interested in seeing the connection with "We are Walter" and how Walter interacts with others of his kind.

Walter's Biometric Regulation encompasses automatic updates. This is another clue toward something of a hive mind or consciousness connected to each other to share updates or new knowledge.

If David 8 were to use Walter (because he may be constructed in part of DNA) to create a biomechanical xenomorph, then this xenomorph could possibly talk to others (with Walter's gifts, control them?) and carry the human knowledge that was harnessed inside Walter.

That is why I focused on the Walter name origin in regards to leading the army. What army?

The names are extremely important to the Order that Dr. Shaw was secretly part of.  The Order of St. Thomas believes that naming something gives you power over it.  Sir Weyland needed a "true believer" from the other human faction aboard the Prometheus, because he wanted one of their members to bear witness to what David experienced:  any type of spiritual reward would be lost on David since he's a goddamn robot.

NASA's "Apollo" program took to the stars and made initial contact with the lunar goddess about their "Endeavor" for the "Discovery" of "Atlantis."  Most of NASA's space crafts have been named after Greek concepts and ideas...  it's only fitting the company continues the tradition, naming one of their ships the Prometheus and one of their colonies Olympia.  The company tried finding Atlantis at one point, but it was fruitless.

Space has been privatized by the megacorps, yet W-Y honors the initial voyages made by Apollo.  Prometheus is just another reference to Greek myth and fits with the company's tradition of naming things after stuff like that. They were gonna go with Magellan because many of their ships have a nautical theme.  But the religious faction that Dr. Shaw was part of responded better to Prometheus, taking the bait.  Don't worry about Dr. Shaw, she's in a better place now.  Hades has dragged Shaw down to "the underworld" with him, on his yacht.  She's currently floating on one of the rivers of the underworld:  the River Lethe (or the River of Memory)...

Something Real

Come now, my friends; let us be civil. There is no need to allow interesting discourse to devolve into unpleasantries. We each have a unique voice; it is better to be heard and considered rather than spurned. :)

"Sir Weyland needed a "true believer" from the other human faction aboard the Prometheus, because he wanted one of their members to bear witness to what David experienced:  any type of spiritual reward would be lost on David since he's a goddamn robot."

Correct all the way CarynDelacroix. I believe I read where Ridley Scott had nine consulting scientists around him at a point during the Prometheus production and he asked who had faith. I think four of them raised their hands.

When David 8 was saying goodbye and "have a good journey" to Peter Weyland, you get a clear picture of what David 8 thinks of an afterlife. Yes, to him there is nothing and anything spiritual would be lost on him.

Peter Weyland would most certainly welcome any advise, spiritual or otherwise, that could bring him closer to cheating death.

If a Christian scientist (such as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw) could provide any tool for Peter Weyland, he would most certainly use it.

PraetorianMember3422 XPApr-09-2017 9:03 PM

Ati, thank you for the background on the Battle of Teutoburg Forest. I brought this up because Ridley Scott mentioned the Romans during this general time period in relation to the attack on LV-223.

Any historical connection mentioned above is in relation to "Rome's greatest defeat" at Teutoburg Forest and Ridley Scott mentioning the Romans in his historical Alien timeline.

FacehuggerMember106 XPApr-09-2017 9:22 PM

"I believe I read where Ridley Scott had nine consulting scientists around him at a point during the Prometheus production and he asked who had faith. I think four of them raised their hands"

One of the people they consulted with was a linguistics expert who helped create the Engineer language.  I'm more aware of the linguistic side of things than anything else, although I'm not sure if he's one of the people who was around Ridley then.

I'm looking at it from an insider and outsider perspective, in a way, because I can't be completely certain about where they're planning on going with some of the concepts/ideas they began developing before (and shortly after) Prometheus.  The Order of St. Thomas is an idea that originated in the comics/books: it's something that Fox may or may not still be interested in developing in the films.  They're the only other faction out there who has ships that are as fast as the Company's.

Linguistic anthropologists conduct cross-cultural linguistic studies, like David did in Prometheus, to understand which languages and groups are related.  Language itself forms a central part of culture, while economic systems & subsistence practices help form what can be considered the culture's core.

In Canada, archaeologists are a little more concerned about the environment and will try to preserve it and mitigate destruction of cultural history.  They've come a long way since colonial times:  anthropology began as a way to study the indigenous cultures who became part of the British, French, Dutch, and Spanish Empires.  There's a bloody history behind archaeology..  It all started in colonial times, and now the Company (which is British in origin) is spreading its colonies all throughout the Universe.

FacehuggerMember437 XPApr-10-2017 8:38 AM

oh well sorry then fifield however some of the statement's made are still unacceptable for a forum that everyone uses possibly including children

Look upon my works, you mighty, and despair

FacehuggerMember247 XPApr-10-2017 8:56 AM

Why bring Jimmy Hoffa into this!?

PraetorianMember3422 XPApr-10-2017 9:07 AM

Edgy Name, I looked at the quote below and thought we could explain Inquisitor Fifield's resume with spectacular claims.

Inquisitor Fifield

FacehuggerMember249 XPApr-10-2017 9:34 AM

nice work Edgy Name :DDD

That rage comment quote from 4chan or some other anonymous board is just legendary and older than the internet itself.

Ofcourse it was a little bit much of you to ask for any of the 'smart' and 'well-read' and definitely 'not autistic' at all people here to get the joke and make that ironic reference, instead of taking it seriously and for granted :'D

tip of my hat to you

PraetorianMember3422 XPApr-10-2017 9:34 AM

Edgy Name, nice touch four hours later with the ownership claim to the quote above. I get the feeling of sympathy for Inquisitor Fifield now with this prank above.

I have been posting pictures of comments because it show's a pattern of disrespect in Inquisitor Fifield's insistence of saying "obsessed, autistic, comments about age, etc"...make fun of my content but have some respect for other readers.

As far as Jimmy Hoffa, he was the equivalent of Godzilla in his arena when he disappeared. There is no disrespect in mentioning Jimmy Hoffa in this context and this is a popular unsolved crime for the obvious reasons.

I'm also starting to recognize a group pout in this vulger prank.

I regret for getting on your nerves in regards to this but it is unacceptable to have this garbage from Inquisitor Fifield.

Did you notice I never posted anything disrespectful on Inquisitor Fifield's topics? I tried to cultivate some type of discussion and it is the same comments over and over in an immature attempt to disrupt what he or she refuses to contribute to.

Inquisitor Fifield

FacehuggerMember249 XPApr-10-2017 9:37 AM

I am also pretty sure you could be classified as legally insane and antisocial by now^^

PraetorianMember3422 XPApr-10-2017 9:46 AM

Inquisitor Fifield, coming from you that is a compliment.

It is hilarious how you attack others then run strait to being a victim. I'm very sure that this behavior is not confined to the forum so prayers for those blessed with your acquaintance.

I'm happy to disagree with your disrespectful mouth/fingers.

You can recruit your minions in a unison a poor me cry and cultivate distraction opposed to content development. I truly hope you never experience the challenges you mock. I do hope you lose power though and get mad and throw your $15 laptop in the bathtub in anger.

Go eat fiber Inquisitor Fifield.

FacehuggerMember249 XPApr-10-2017 9:59 AM

I dont give a content of your brain about all this :D

But just for your obsession im going to continue. The hours alone you must have spent to create that youtube story and fotos, not to speak of the channel and videos itself, why dont you try to invest that effort in a real job or getting help?

FacehuggerMember437 XPApr-10-2017 10:04 AM

indeed Ingeniero it is ridiculous how when we are trying to have a civilized well mannered discussion he begins calling people "antisocial" "legally insane" and "autistic" which infuriates me because I have friends who have Autism and they are actually quite intelligent

Look upon my works, you mighty, and despair

PraetorianMember3422 XPApr-10-2017 10:08 AM

Correct, likewise Resurgence. SAP has a program that can harness the gifts some autistic people possess.

PraetorianMember3422 XPApr-10-2017 10:11 AM

I have a job Inquisitor Fifield.

"But just for your obsession im going to continue. The hours alone you must have spent to create that youtube story and fotos, not to speak of the channel and videos itself, why dont you try to invest that effort in a real job or getting help?"

Do you think I believed you were going to stop?

This is what you concentrate on so why would I believe you would wake up respectful. I got help and I'm doing better (my scale, not theirs). Be well.

FacehuggerMember437 XPApr-10-2017 10:12 AM

really fifield there are people who are actually trying to have a civil conversation, if you cannot be civil and actually contribute, please leave. Enough is enough

Look upon my works, you mighty, and despair

FacehuggerMember249 XPApr-10-2017 10:19 AM

Make me, you might never know which new account/user is back then.

PraetorianMember3422 XPApr-10-2017 10:23 AM

Inquisitor Fifield, please take the time to read in your panic to post and it won't look like you misunderstood English.

PraetorianMember3422 XPApr-10-2017 10:30 AM

That's great Inquisitor Fifield. I love Dr. Elizabeth Shaw too. I'm glad we could get past this now with firm common ground. And I appreciate you complimenting my use of proper names for characters.

PraetorianMember3422 XPApr-10-2017 10:37 AM

I see that you disliked most of my videos on YouTube Inquisitor Fifield. Hell hath no fury as a _____ scorn.

Why leave some out when you can dislike every one?
