MemberFacehuggerApr-03-2017 6:49 PMOK, this probably means next to nothing to my friends on here but I just saw the trailer for Alien during the NCAA National Basketball Championship and I was stunned....John Denver's Country Roads playing to the trailer was epic. That song as very special meaning to someone who is a WVU alum and its played for a trailer of the most awesome sic-fi canon maybe ever...freaking amazing...I know you guys must think I'm nuts but that was just incredible!
OK- I'll go back to chugging beers! Go Aliens, Go Mountaineers!

Sometimes the universe just gives us a 'gift' like that now and then :)

MemberFacehuggerApr-03-2017 6:56 PMIts a common song that was featured in uncountable familiar/idyllic references in tv and movies before, keep your pants on^^

MemberFacehuggerApr-03-2017 6:56 PM@Blackwinter - you're right, as my brother texted me "its a sign....of what I'm not sure" haha...just crazy. That song is practically our school fight song so its amazing that of all songs they used that one. Definitely hammers home a personal connection

MemberPraetorianApr-03-2017 10:18 PMSteveRogers1973, I'm right there with you. The combination of that music and the exotic tech of the Engineers, yes it does look and sound so very good.
Is Dr. Shaw singing the Denver song in the hologram playback?
Yes, by all means, regroup and pull yourself together.

MemberFacehuggerApr-04-2017 6:57 PMThe song itself invokes a lot of emotion. Coupled with the Alien franchise, which invokes a different set of emotions, but emotions nonetheless, being emotional is understandable lol.
Being a WVU alum just makes it hit home that much harder, and drinking helps...

MemberTrilobiteApr-04-2017 8:09 PMIt's a great song all by itself. Combining contradictory moods like this usually make for powerful material.

MemberFacehuggerApr-04-2017 8:27 PMAnd the way they chopped the song a bit, perfect mix of old school Americana with out of this world sci-fi. Cool and creepy at same time
