Neo-Hugger, Proto-Hugger?

Wouldn't be a Neo they come from the Spores.  Maybe a different kind of proto/xeno.

I think the standard facehugger was bigger with all digits above the ears. They are also missing the tail hump from the original.  See Below:

Rick- nice close ups! I noticed both appear noticeably smaller than the ones in past movies- unless those are big headed Engineers.

The smooth one could be a biological step between the squid and classic facehuggo.

Looking at the mural as a whole, there seems to be vast differences in the physiology of the different xenos and facehuggers, could be an entire species worth of differences.

Sort of like how humans can have different morphology and genetics, i.e. hand, ear size, dental formations, larger mouths and such.  Who knows, maybe we find out their biology is derived from more than just host physiology/biology.

At the same time, we might be trying to pull too much meaning from an awesome artistic piece.  I rather like Deathwing's take on it.

deathwing22153 You may be right. Someone may have put out a great piece of art for a different purpose but knew we would pick it apart like vultures on a carcass and strip it clean to distract us from something else.

Well if the Black Goo predates these, then we know the Black Goo can lead to multiple possible Mutations, also Spaights draft had or intended to show us 8 different kinds of Xenomorph.

Hey "That Guy" (LOL j/k'ing)  I would like to think it's just a piece of art left open to interpretation.  But, Ridley Scott probably has to sign off on anything being released.  Take into account that Ridley is a Master Allegorist, so everything he does or approves has a hidden meaning behind it.  Its ar jobs to shred it like a pack of wild hyenas

Indeed i dont think we will see much of this in the movie, but it would be hinted at maybe similar happening before.

So i think the next movie Awakening would cover these kind of events that the Poster has.
