MemberFacehuggerMar-04-2017 10:28 PMI know I'm out numbered on this, but I really liked "Alien Resurrection". I also know that it sounds crazy but I didn't love "Aliens". My ranking goes like this.
"Prometheus".."Alien".."Alien Resurrection".."Aliens".......... I thought "Alien Resurrection" was scary as hell! Boom!

MemberTrilobiteMar-05-2017 12:15 AMI liked Resurrection. I would disagree about Prometheus though- hated it except for David's role.
Each to his own, but I find dislike of Aliens synonymous to blasphemy lol!

MemberOvomorphMar-05-2017 12:29 AMI'd go with Alien, Prometheus, Alien 3, Aliens. The other films like resurrection and AVP I don't care for

Goddamn Tropics in here
MemberFacehuggerMar-05-2017 3:52 AMAs per MJD and Raven but Alien is like a fine wine, it gets better with age
I hope AC slots somewhere in between Alien and Aliens and becomes a classic
Drake
MemberFacehuggerMar-05-2017 4:30 AM1 - Alien
2 - Aliens
3 - Prometheus
4 - Alien 3
Nothing else counts. Importantly AR did not advance the story. It did some creative stuff, but not in a Ridley way. AR did not feel real. It was an over-the-top comic book version of a movie.
Alien 3 might have been at the top of my list if they had gone with the wooden planet script. That thing had some bits that came off like the CS Lewis Space Trilogy.

MemberPraetorianMar-05-2017 6:38 AMAliens, Alien, Prometheus, then Alien 3.
I didn't really like Alien Ressurection that much and to what Drake said, it did feel like a comic book movie but in addition I do not like Joss Weadon. I absolutely loathe the AVP (2004) for a variety of reasons such as being a faithless turd of a movie that Paul W S Anderson seems excrete out each time he makes movies, AVPR is slightly better than AVP in my opinion for being more faithful to source material but still not very good.

MemberFacehuggerMar-05-2017 8:13 AMI only recognize Alien and Prometheus, though I'm certain I'll be adding AC to the list.

MemberChestbursterMar-05-2017 10:57 AMMine has changed as I've matured but its definitely:
1) Alien
2) Prometheus
(HUGE DISTANCE HERE BETWEEN 2 & 3)
3) Alien 3
4) Alien Rez
5) Aliens (really, really, really hard for me to watch this nowadays. Too cheesy and overblown. Just went the wrong direction from what should've been. Designs were too "sterile" and "perfect" instead of what Giger intended, as well)

MemberOvomorphMar-05-2017 4:52 PM1) ALIEN (a classic in every sense of the word)
2) ALIEN 3 (loved the look of the film, it went well with the generally pessimistic/dark tone of the film)
3) ALIEN VS PREDATOR (I'm old and had been waiting for this for a long time and was not disappointed)
4) PROMETHEUS (loved the look of the film and was glad to finally start getting a back story to the whole canon)
ALIENS would have been #2 when I was younger but I have to agree with Starlogger's opinion now that I'm older. I don't like James Cameron's decision of making it more of a Action Movie, as opposed to Ridley Scott's haunting original Science Fiction/Horror Movie.
ALIEN: RESURRECTION. It may not be a great film in the canon but it is fun to watch.
ALIENS VS PREDATOR: REQUIEM should never have been made. What a stinker!
