Alternate Theory on Shaw: Spoiler ish

Not a bad hypothesis. However, if there was an outbreak of the Neomorphs, what did they burst out of...? The burnt, crispy bodies we saw don't have evidence of bursting action.

I still don't think that's david's lab but there is a lot to take in. The pictures hanging are too high.

They remains could have been eaten or decomposed, or burned by survivors before they all got torched. The lack of remains does not change that spores are everywhere before Covenant arrives and it stands to reason that Neomorphs deposited them.

@Shasta, it may not ALWAYS have been his lab, he may easily have commandeered it from the former resident. I can't think of who else reasonably performed that autopsy.

Plausibel.

I'd guess that when a Neomorph is killed or dies after a very short lifespan, the body grows back into the spores.

Like a purely destructive parasite bioweapon thats only activated when there are hosts around - the silent and wiped out fauna of the planet might proof this.

I thought the spores came from the fruit dropped of the trees as a result of the eco-system being violated (yeah...) by the black goo.

I like the idea of David helping Shaw, I mean I didn't really like her character in Prometheus at all, I actually didn't really like much of anybody in that movie aside from David. Even though at times I was like what is going on with this dude, but he did tend to have some kind of connection with her. So I am probably in the minority thinking that David is helping her. I guess I just don't see David being responsible for the xeno and all the dead engineers or whatever beings they are. I think something apocalyptic or some sort of genocide happened to the engineer race. Sorry if I got off topic. So I guess what I'm trying to say is a good portion of me thinks David is doing whatever he is doing to help Shaw.

It reminds me of WW2 when America was trying to counter the Panzer with the Abrams (tanks). The Neos (Abrams) didn't stand a chance one on one, but very effective in the absence of Xenos (panzer) or in overwhelming numerical superiority.

@Dr. Curt Connors not off topic at all, really. I like taking a different spin on things when possible, just to see if it sticks.

The catastrophe could go either way. Most likely, it had been perpetrated before David and Shaws arrival, but it could also be David or Shaw's revenge for attempting to wipe out earth. That is off topic.

I haven't seen anything indicating that the spores dropped from trees.

I'll have to agree with this, I feel the surprise of the film will be that David didn't go down the rabbit hole and actually remained somewhat "good". I just don't see him murdering or mutating Shaw.

@peterweyland  Yeah I just think that overall connection David has with Shaw and her saving him would make him care for her in his own way more than he already did. We could be crazy for thinking he didn't go crazy, haha. But that's my feeling as well.

Well unless who ever performs its has a way to keep the bodies from decomposing... etc it looks to me like a more Fresh one, certainly looks like it was not done many years prior...

Who is that person?  Shaw? but Jaw is large and head shape also does not match Noomi Rappace and whats the chances her body can be kept like that for years? Unless David had her on Ice and only be Coincidence took her out a day or so prior?

So to me the face and jaw line could mean its either Billy Crudup, Tess Haubrich or even Goran D Kluet?

As far as who else could be doing the Autopsy... maybe Walter?

Interesting to see if David was helping Shaw, but then where did she get to....

I doubt they find her body in the Cryo-Pod, if she is in it.. not at least until the 3rd Act. If they indeed do find it there.

But i agree at some-point she would be in a Cryo-Pod but i cant see how she would have knowledge of the Tech to lock herself in... so David could easily get her out if that was his intentions.

So maybe this could help give some weight to a theory that David locked her in their for some reason.

on another post, I had posted that Goran D. Kluet at 6'6", gaunt , and not too robust matches this figure the best of all the cast members...

I'm leaning more and more toward Crudup. David's first opportunity to perform an autopsy on a chest bursting victim in years or ever.

I think David scouted the planet for Shaw and found many dangers in wait and told her to barricade herself in and only let him in. 

She's either in cryosleep now, or safe from danger due to some transformation. David's studies are to 1: pass time, he's bored. 2: save shaw. 3. Undo what was done to her. Starting to get a Julie Mao vibe. If you aren't an Expanse fan, become one.

At some point, david gets his body back, could it have happened before they flew off to paradise? Could the prometheus shuttle pod containing the trilobite be used for a procedure on him?

i think they get shot down over paradise, goo infects all wildlife and eventually turns the engineers fifield, they are nuked by their army as a desperate measure - neutron bomb.

i think shaw gets turned into something, perhaps a queen like cyborg that is used for the  generation of the eggs.

If the Deacon is going to be in this movie all grown up (I still am hoping), then I suppose Shaw could have reconnected David while on LV-223 (maybe David said he could only navigate/pilot the Juggernaut while fully intact) and somehow, unknowingly, the Deacon got onto the other Juggernaut Shaw and David used to get to Paradise.

And the deacon drops those spores everywhere. I can get behind that. Not sure about the black goo spread, but it would justify the genocide. Then again, so would the deacon dropping spores.
