we see in Prometheus the holes in the cryo pods in the engineers ship which def suggests they had been implanted with chest bursters which broke free when the engineers were in cryo. do u think the last engineer escaped such a fate? he was implanted with the deacon, obviously, but would it be possible for him to have been impregnated like the rest of his sleeping crew AND impregnated by the trilobite? if so would the deacon kill the original chest burster? some species of shark kill theyr siblings while in the mother sharks womb, could the same be possible here?

Can't say I've heard of double impregnation,but considering the engineers large frame maybe.After all the deacon was quite large when it was born,perhaps it gained extra nourishment from another embryo.

That actually is a really cool theory, however we really don't know what it looks like when a facehugger breaks through a Cryostasis pod. We get a little bit of detail from Alien 3 in that situation, but I don't think that could be very possible. If the engineers are so smart, he'd know that he's impregnated with what they created .

that's maybe why hes so angry. he was put into stasis to save him but now he has been woken up and sentenced to death by these pitiful beings?im guessing the other engineers were put into stasis knowing of theyr situation aswell

This was indeed the fate of the Engineer in Spaights draft and we have to remember its likely the Props was worked on for Spaights draft.

The other Engineers were not as lucky and did not get into Cryo-sleep in time.

I think the Prometheus Engineer however was unaffected, but the Space Jockey could have been infected the same as the other 3 Engineers in the same ship as the Last Engineer.

The Space Jockey Managed to get into Cryo-sleep in time to prevent the Chest Buster, and then he woke up some 200 years latter and set off on his mission but then he got Chest Busted?

I think this is a possible explanation, but i also have the feeling maybe the Space Jockey did not 100% know he was infected before he went into Cryo-sleep?

There is a lot of ways to explain the Space Jockey in context...

But also there is ways to look at the Engineer in separate way to Space Jockey.

I will be busy now... but i will expand upon this..

And why the Hammerpedes could be the likely cause.

I just had a bad thought...If the face-huggers infect you through your , well...face, what is the Hammerpedes primary means of infection? We saw one serve up Milburn pretty good through his mouth in Prometheus, but what if they prefer another entry...?

This is really disturbing even for me...

is it possible something that was birthed by one of the engineers was still in the pyramid after all that time?

What was janek looking at that was heading toward Milburn & Fifield and disappeared off the holo-map? It was probably the hammerpede(s), but maybe it wasn't? hmmmmmmm.

It was picking up the sleeping Engineer.

@S.M, your right, it was when david heard the heartbeat of the engineer in cryo-stasis, the mapper picked it up.

The Engineers life signs were slowed down to the point that the PUP only registered a sporadic lifeform reading.

just watched the scene again. all crew members were on the Prometheus when the ping was detected. it was before david infects Holloway. it also looks like the location of the ping is located at a dead end quite a bit away from where the guys r. I think its intended to show something else is there, possibly what killed the engineers

the heart beat doesn't sound slowed down to me, plus the door to the engineer pods was sealed shut, its not the engineer its picking up

The Engineer is the only lifeform on the Juggernaut.

The ping is located at the Juggernaut's main hatch.  They think it's a glitch, David investigates, opens the hatch - and finds a living Engineer.

Why complicate things with hammerpedes that were a kilometre away from the pinging PUP?

It was my first thought when watching because the hammerpede was revealed shortly after

whos complicating things with hammerpedes? who mentioned a hammerpede? the ping is at the end of a long corridor which has been mapped, none of the juggernaut had been mapped at that point so how can it be the engineer. unless ofcourse he got up, found another way to the area, examines the pup, then holds his breath, slows his heart beat and then returns to his cryo pod. possible?

Have a look above - hammerpedes have been mentioned a number of times.

It has to be the Engineer because it's the only lifeform in the vicinity of that PUP.  The hypersleep chamber slows down his life signs so there's no need to hold his breath - hence the intermittent lifeform reading leading Janek to believe it was a glitch.

how can the pup be in the chamber?the location of the ping is clearly in a place the pup had mapped. so where is the rest of the room? where is the rest of the ship in the first picture?

There's also a deleted scene where Fifeld an Milburn find a shed skin.I know it's "deleted" but perhaps something was running around in there.
