I'm putting this together in an effort to get a full, complete picture of everything that is canon in the Alien universe. If you know anything that is,feel free to contribute. My hope is we can all use this forum as a frame of reference when need be.

Are the books Out of the Shadows, Sea of Sorrow and River of Pain canon? I think I heard on here they are and read that they are also, are those the only books that are canon?

You mean the movie novelizations?
Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for

yup, the movie novelizations. I've been saying for months there is a lot more info in the books then you see in the movies.

example, they tried to space the alien in the alien novel and it got its arm cut off by the door and it grew back like the hammerpede head

"Isolation? If not, why?"
Sorry. Missed that one.
Movie novelisations go without saying - as far as they don't contradict the film.

LOL, you have to say on the novelizations or people over look them. Hence the slight over looking of them in a post previous mentioned here.

This one

Nah. Novelizations, comic books, video games, happy meals etc. are not canon (at least in my humble opinion) purely because this is a film franchise and therefore only films can be considered canonical. But by the same token, a comic book franchise will not consider a film based on it as canonical.

Man i would have been severely disappointed if isolation was not canon, that game blew me away, the look of it, walking around inside the torrens felt like i stepped onto nostromo and the engineering section of sevastopol was like the nostromo engineering deck, sega and create assembly did an awsome job.

Depends on the franchise.
There better be Covenant Happy Meals in May.

My basic search defined canon thustly in order of precedence but admitted that it is not limited to this:
- Theatrical films
- Video games
- Books
- Comics
- Toys/other merchandise

Covenant happy meal toys?Hell I'll buy one lol

lol thats ok S.M, each to their own, man i remember when empire strikes back opened back in 80'(scraping the grey matter data banks! lol) i bought every cup in the meal range.

Forget Happy Meals- How about a Covenant Burger by a Chicago place that does metal band burgers like the Ghost Unholy Communion burger?

I'm a big heavy metal fan!I think i know what that place is!!!

Uma's in Chicago. Never been but surely forum members could come up with some interesting.....time for a new thread!

"Are the books Out of the Shadows, Sea of Sorrow and River of Pain canon?"
I would agree that they are Dr. Curt Connors.
There are obvious inconsistencies when comparing the novels to the films (Alien, Alien: Covenant novels) but there are concepts in Sea of Sorrows that tend toward connecting with what we have seen in the films. Titan Books and 20th Century Fox were involved in the novels too and that helps toward canon in my opinion.
"I still have Empire Strikes Back towels."
Are they baby blue S.M? I had the curtains and bed set and they were baby blue.
