I hope so. I still suspect that the Engineers are simply meatbag, cloned servants of a higher being. Perhaps this ship belongs to one of these beings.

Sure why not? My question is how is the ship built inside because it is built like some sort of stone that you could place somewhere like a symbol for something. Another thing is this: how does it land? In order to land and to stand up they would need some sort of legs or something but we don't see that so how does that work?

I hope we will see more of the engineer ships, including that one from the beginning of prometheus.

Dark Nebula: Maybe they have different kinds of ships for different missions? For example if they know that they will go to a planet with a certain environment they use plane A and if there is another environment then they use plane B?

I love that ship as well! I sure hope they incorporate it into COVENANT.
Perhaps the ship could be some sort of god-ship, where all the deities of the engineers live!

Oh man, new ships would set off so many new questions. Yeah, bring it on.

The Noobernaut is my favourite craft ever. While I would love to see more of it, I kinda hope we don't, so that it remains mysterious, trippy and mystifying!

Villeneuve is directing Blade Runner 2 which I'm sure Ridley had a say about, so I imagine me he's flattered, and hopefully a touch vindicated by this homage to his vision.
I doubt it lands, ever. My question is how was the sacrificial Engineer delivered to that spot? And I hope it's never answered, a cosmic swirl coalescing into a body would disappoint.

I am with "Lone" on this. The scene at the beginning belongs to an ancient past when the Engineers were fulfilling the role laid down to them.
Ridley has clearly evolved the story since the scene was shot and may have subsequently considered the beautiful and terrifying craft is representative of the hierarchy.
In Covenant I hope we will see more of the internals of the Juggernaut revealed and more of the lost Engineer culture and tantalise us as to whether in his vision now the derelict, the battle wagon with its bio bechanoid cargo, the ultimate ethnic cleanser, was adapted from the Canister carrying Juggernauts or pre dates it !
On a more general point I have never seen the A L I E N series as spaceship movies they just take place in space and each film sees a designer follow the needs of the story.

That ship was another beautiful, throwaway gift from Ridley. We see the progressive shape change, a what the hell moment....then it's gone. Yet the impression it made lasts forever!
Straight out of the mind of an amazing one-of-a-kind visionary!

Its possible DV's vehicle isn't an homage but I doubt it.
That whole sequence is haunting. After reading so much bad press I just sat there spellbound thinking 'OMFG this is incredible'. And no flash, no lights, no inexplicable purple energy, just a huge, cold, cloudy hallucination.

this is possibly the engineer god's guitar pick.... O_O

It would be interesting to see some Giger Inspired Aesthetics and i think at very least we would see the Juggernaught again.... as far as the other Pebble Ship or other Engineer Ships... its unknown... i hope so.
It does seem the Alien Covenant sets, have a Ancient Civilization look at feel to them and not a Industrial Gigeresque feel to them.... the few shots realeased look more like shots that would not be out of place in Ridleys Exedous Gods and Kings
However these shots could be from a Ancient Past Flash back....
We can assume some Technological Advanced Sets would be shown... as we see the Ancient Engineers possessed Technology to build Advanced Ships (Seeding Ship at the start of the movie) we also see the LV-223 Engineers Juggernaughts, internal designs of the Cave System and Space Jockey/Pressure Suits.
Would we see this in the movie? Who knows..... from what we have seen so far, it appears that most of the Engineers Habitat could be underground.... in underground bases.
And so from the outside/surface we may get a more Ancient Temple or Basic Look... for example the Temple Mounds in Prometheus... but its the internal layout inside and beneath these where we see the Advanced Architecture of the Engineers?
Two of the Concept designers and workers on the sets are more better known for the design of Architecture and sets from the past..... i.e Temples, Palaces and the like.... One main Set designer did a lot of work on the Star Wars movies. And worked on the Aesthetics of the Buildings on Naboo and so i feel the Engineers Architecture on the outside has that Ancient feel.
But hides inside a Technologically Advanced Civilization

So as far as Ships... i would be surprised if we dont get to see some of the Engineer or related beings/Hierarchy Ships....
We can guarantee a Juggernaught, but it would be great to see some other designs too.
However looking at the Production Staff, and Concept designers that have history of designing Ships etc... then they only really have designed mainly very Human looking Metal Technology Ships. From more Nostromo looking Technology to more advanced looking Prometheus designs...
But as with most Set workers and Concept Artists mainly working on Ancient looking Sets in the past and Vast Jungle looking sets.. does not mean we wont see Engineers Advanced Aesthetics like the interior of the Temple in Prometheus and Juggernaught.... and so we cant rule out any Engineer Advanced Ships in the movie.
