Information and Updates for ALIEN: The Weyland-Yutani Report!14,899 Views40 RepliesAdd A Reply
My copy of the report arrived yesterday. I opted for the hardcover edition as I felt it would need to stand up to much thumbing through and scrutiny. This is not the Collector's Edition as it doesn't seem to be available here in the UK, as yet.
For two reasons I thought it might be a good idea to create this post.
Firstly for anyone considering buying the book it could serve as a review, and secondly it could be a place for interesting or important information about the entire franchise, but more importantly, facts which may prove relevant to the upcoming ALIEN Covenant and beyond!
I will add more detail as I work my way though each chapter. If anyone has anything at all to add then please feel free to post. That’s the main point of this topic!
On first inspection I have to say that this is a beautifully presented book. You’ll never find a more handsome tome about our beloved Alien, [termed XENOMORPH XX121 by the Company] and it’s horrific lifecycle. It’s a historical timeline of the most frightening creature in the Universe and Weyland-Yutanis efforts to capture, study and exploit it.
The report contains privildged information that is the property of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation and opens with a warning, that anyone below a clearance level of S2 found with a copy of the report "can expect immediate termination [of employment] and subsequent legal prosecution."
Beautiful colour images stand out against the black page backgrounds, as does the metallic green text. There are a few images we have seen before, but there's a host of newly created artwork and illustrations, which have absolutely stunning detail and clarity. There are amazingly detailed illustrations of each of the ships, vehicles and weapons used throughout the series as well as potted histories of all personnel, including how they met their demise!
It contains many interesting add-ons, which are attached to relevant pages. These consist of transcripts and final status reports by various crew members ranging from Lambert’s Incident Statement Regarding Quarantine Protocol Deviation, a transcript of Hicks’ Final Status Report, a little eight page novella, named SPACE BEAST by former Fiorina 161 inmate Robert Morse, right through to a copy of the Debriefing of Security Officer Y. Bose, Assigned to USM Auriga in 2380.
There are illustrations of proposed medical and military applications from Xenomorph biology, including an acid spraying Xenomorph Gun! See below...
Thanks go to avpgalaxy amongst others for the images!

Not at all.... i dont think most people find what you are covering as in harm....
Its nice to talk about the Book, and encourage people to purchase it, its not like you are being to spoilery with what you are uncovering.
And at the end of the day, by not giving snippets or not is not going to dramatically effect whether people would gte the book or not.
For me i am interested in what you put and its actually made me order the book, i would like the Special Addition but at £250 its a lot of money compared to £22 for the normal hardback..
Had we seen Alien Prequels complete, and Alien 5 and so we know about the Xeno Origins and Engineers and then they had a Source Book and their was a Special Edition then it would be worth the extra cost.
For me now its a not-complete work as some elements are Redacted or need higher clearance.... i.e they have not been answered yet and are due to be over the next few movies.

@oduodu - I didn't feel it was appropriate to get all braggy. I didn't write it after all; just consulted.
@Lone - Not annoyed at all.
Fair play... must have been interesting Project, and here is to another book once the franchise has covered other aspects that it could not put in the book even if those working on it had a rough idea what is going to be covered so as to not spoil the future movies.

Weighs a tonne.
As some of our new members are thinking about purchasing The Weyland-Yutani Report, thought I would bump this topic! :)
The Fire and Stone comics are canon which means
LV-223 becomes a lush environment, the nasty, terrifying Deacon turns into a f**king mountain!!!!!, and......
the Predators are in the same universe. OH GOSH NO....
maybe that's what Alien Universe means?....
It's not 100% that the Deacon is the mountain, but it is hinted at.
