Noomi Rapace's involvement in the Prometheus sequel has remained cryptic and misleading as of late. Initial reports stated her and Michael Fassbinder's David were the primary focal points of the sequel's plot. Then came word that Noomi's involvement would be minimal, with a small role. Most recently, sources claim she isn't even in the film at all.

So, either they were lying to us from the get go, or Noomi does play a small, key role in Alien: Covenant.

Could Elizabeth Shaw's existence be one of the film's big twists and so, we're meant to think she's not involved? Or is her story being left unexplained so that it can be revisited in one of the other Prometheus sequels Fox and Scott have planned?

Personally, I feel Shaw won't be completely neglected. She must play a role. She is the only one who can screw David's head back on. David won't be a random head lying on the ground of Paradise when the Covenant arrives. There needs to be more to this back story and there is literally no way it can't involve Shaw.

What are your thoughts? Do you think we're intentionally being told she's not involved to protect a greater secret?

Keep in mind too, it's not a matter of re-casting either. Shaw the character has been left out of the official plot synopsis. I'm remaining skeptical.

Yes, she will appear as part of the story, a very dark part of the story.

She will most likely be unrecognisable, as David will have combined/merged/fused her into something very shocking, which will be key to the plot and the evolution of the Alien!

Well that's my guess and I think everyone knows what I am hinting at!

Seems odd not to have her!? What if 'Empire Strikes Back' didn't return Luke Skywalker, Would ESB have been the same, with just Han Solo?

Star Wars IV finished Lukes's story :Death star destroyed...Vader escaping. but capturing Vader could have been another characters story or a Han Solo adventure. So Luke could've been left out of the remaining movies. Just like what is happening to Elizabeth Shaw. But what if Luke was on his way to destroy the Deathstar and Star Wars ep. IV ended, With Luke boarding a troop ship?

This is how I feel about Noomi and the Shaw character. she is on her way to the Deathstar.

I don’t like the Shaw character at all, she was one of the bad things about Prometheus. Hopefully she will either die early in the movie or that she will be in the movie but will have a very reduced role and hence leave the female lead to some other person.
