This movie is so wasted on people like you. I actually appreciate this post because it's such an accurate reflection of the people out there who do not have the capacity to appreciate something original and thought-provoking.

I'll tell you what, there is some very crass behavior in Prometheus, but that's consistent with all the Alien films. Humanity never looks too good in these stories, so yes the future is grim.
Love it or hate it, Prometheus is an artistic achievement. The lighting and audio alone are fantastic. Is it the greatest movie ever? No. Is it an accomplishment, especially given the commercial pressure any mega million dollar movie is under? Yes. Is it the best sci fi movie to be released in a very long time? IMO, yes.
I get the let down, totally. I do. For me though the direction they went and how they went about it is chilling in itself. Basically an entire crew is wiped out by a few drops of God, the same stuff that generated our beloved Morb. A smorgasbord of mortality, rather than one lifeform stalking in the shadows.
Many have wondered why it wasn't just made as a stand alone, non Alien story. But I think its connection to Alien, and its near refusal to go down that path, is even more disturbing, and the story over all is enriched by Prometheus.
