OvomorphMember0 XPSep-15-2012 8:27 PMThought I'd share some additional pictures of mutated Fifeld since he only appears for a couple of minutes. I sure don't remember much of his brief visit in the hangar other than: crab stance-bashes some random guys-stage dive-bashes some more-dead (yes very dead) The scene was rather short but surprised me the most in the film; seeing an almost unstoppable force who lost its humanity go rampage, it was shocking, brutal and definitely something I did not expect (at least how it played out) Trivia: The film crew actually set actor Sean Harris on fire during this scene. Here are some stills of him; Notice the increase in muscles, and that dark green goo dripping from his head.

OvomorphMember0 XPSep-16-2012 1:54 AMPlease insert MUTANT FIFIELD back into THe 02:30:00 Restoration Cut. Enough of this rampant cuttage and reissueage just to 'make more money' - DELIVER THE ARTIST'S SUBMITTED VERSION - let his inner artist shine. Should we get a petition going?

OvomorphMember0 XPSep-15-2012 9:23 PMnice pics! but i really do like the CG version better myself, the look on his face gives me the chills. but i do think this version is more "gross" and thats always good in a sci fi as well.

zzplural

OvomorphMember0 XPSep-16-2012 7:33 AMWell, it's not going to happen, is it. What is done is done. Personally, I think this was one of the low points in the film. Some of the concept art that made him look more like an alien worked far better than the chewed up zombie that we got. Then again, I have an intense dislike for all zombie-related stuff. Just my own foible – zombies do nothing for me.
The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent

OvomorphMember0 XPSep-16-2012 8:42 AM@belladonna yeah I'm looking forward to the CG version as well, and hopefully the scene is longer too :) @Mapusoul thanks for adding the additional images!

DeaconMember10390 XPSep-16-2012 9:52 AMThere was many Fifield concepts... Above was one idea and most other concepts had similar look, this look you could make a connection between the Hammerpedes and Fifield. It carried a lot of Xeno DNA and maybe untimately it was dropped. The Two they went with are CGI Fifield which yes looks too CGI and fake, but it toned down the Mutation but they ended up for the actual film using a more toned down version of CGI Fifield the Toxic Avenger Fifield as i like to call it and i think its LAME! They was also working on a lot of animatroinics that never made it and one of those was this one... To me this version was half the original concept and half zombie Fifield it was a fine balance that had a Xeno Look but not too much... The Zombie Fifield well he basically just looked like a burned Humanoid who had been burnt by Acid then set on fire...

OvomorphMember26 XPSep-16-2012 4:13 PMThe foreshadowing of the Alien configuration in the unused concepts is very haunting. They could've used this as a tease then pulled back, leaving that tantalising connection lingering. I too can't understand why they shied away from it for the zombie look. I hate zombies too zzplural and bloody 'gorgeous' vampires. It is a reflection on how everything has dumbed right down in the Hollywood 'horror'(?) genre in the last 10 years. Having said that the burns make-up is in itself top-notch and looks like a real burn victim, right down to the shrunken-back nose which is characteristic in such tragic cases of injury.

OvomorphMember26 XPSep-16-2012 4:18 PMI like the small black and white pic of the proto on all fours. Reminds me a lot of the 'Bambi-Alien' and 'Rubber Johnny' - anybody seen that film? I've only got a trailer on the Chris Cunningham DVD.

Necronomicon IV

OvomorphMember0 XPSep-16-2012 5:56 PMAnybody else noticed that in that bottom pic he's ripping some guy's intestines out? Also, am I the only one that kinda likes this version better than the cgi version? I mean the unused version looks cool and all but he looks way too much like an Alien. It defeats the purpose. And it probably would have looked fake. But that's just me. I guess we'll have to wait and see what it looked like on the deleated scene.
