@RH...yep I've always agreed with you there since I saw that interview, for the reasons you provided. I just don't think they had time to flesh out her story in this movie.

I would'nt mind seeing more of Theron in the sequel/s....it's easy to bring back an android or have an android double...like maybe the real vickers are sitting back safely on earth and she send in her android clone?

Yep, they've hinted at her surviving the roll over so it makes perfect sense. Plus the little joke between her and Janek. Just because she can or acts like she wants to screw doesn't mean she's not a robot.
Plus, why would they have Theron do a small role like that. I know they wrote more in the script because she asked them to but I think they went to her and said "We want you for this part. It's a small part in this film but will be more in depth in the sequels."

I'll try to find the interview where Scott hints that Vickers survived the roll.

WOw, no wonder RS mentioned that Vickers is really an important character in PROMETHEUS and also for future sequels, which can refer back to the incidents of PROMETHEUS that Vicker's act towards to her father and also the jealousy towards David.

Sorry I have to respectfully disagree with you.
1. It was quite obvious it was for Weyland's use. Besides, there were two other women aboard the ship.
2. David also calls Vickers 'mum'.
3. Jealousy is an emotion, no?
4. I don't remember her being on the alien ship when the engineer kills her father. She did have tears welling up in her eyes when she was talking to him after he woke up.
5. Yes he did. He also was drinking 'milk'. Vickers liked her vodka.
6. She's quite aware and quite self serving as well. Can't run worth a damn though.
7. Or he's trying to mislead people?
She seemed very human to me and not much different than Weyland and his selfishness. She also showed plenty of other emotions throughout the movie, like fear when the alien ship was about to roll over her. I think Scott's comment about a possible 2nd robot, was just an attempt to throw people off until the movie came out and nothing more than that.

I've already started up a thread on this subject a few days ago entitled "Two Android Talk."

Mark my words (again), they're all three coming back.
It has been foreseen.

I agree with Jedikooter. Vickers gets out of hypersleep and starts doing push ups cause her muscles are in atrophy from sleeping for 2 years. David doesn't need to do push ups or sleep. Vickers also shows a range of emotion whereas David stayed very stable and calm throughout the whole movie in expressing emotion, never anger or frustration like Vickers does. She was obvious jealous of David cause Weyland preferred him more over Vickers who was his biological daughter.
