MemberOvomorphJun-04-2012 9:29 PMHearing the complaints from fans that some of the scenes feel truncated and even deleted from the theatrical cut, we should organize a vote then a partition to Fox to release an uncut version (later on like September or October, great month for a horror movie) not on Blu-Ray but on giant screens across the globe where the movie according to Ridley Scott & team is meant to be shown. What say you?
Admin, how do you append a voting capability in this thread?
1) Would you like a Longer Theatrical Cut ?
2) Would you wait for Director's Cut on BluRay?
3) No, the movie is fine as it is, leave it: it is perfect (lol)

MemberOvomorphJun-04-2012 9:39 PMI fear we have already seen the movie as ridley Scott intended and most of the footage we want to see (extended scenes) probably doesn't even exist. If it does, fox will hold out to maximise sales possibly years after the bluray release. Money makes the world go round; artists die in the gutter.

MemberOvomorphJun-04-2012 9:42 PMI'm really not sure a longer cut would help, I don't think i could phantom being subject to an even longer cut of this film. I really just want to forget this film happened.

if you wanna forget the film happened...erm...why are you posting on a forum dedicated to the film? seems...strange...
@cypher-->wasnt that in reference to the rating though?

MemberOvomorphJun-05-2012 12:45 AMHonestly I don't think I would want to sit through it again. I don't think the 3hr version will save this movie. yes it's obvious where the cuts were made and they were bad choices. if anything the so called sick and shocking AND action scenes could do with not being cut to ribbons. they should NOT make Sequals to this movie it should be a forgotten mistake.

MemberOvomorphJun-05-2012 12:54 AMScott does spectacular "Director's Cuts" of just about all his films these days (check out Kingdom of Heaven DC or Legend DC if you want to see a couple of films turned into completely different films). I have no doubt whatsoever he will do the same with Prometheus (in fact, I'm kind of guessing maybe he just doesn't have much faith in the attention spans of cinemagoers these days? Either that or he's content to let the studios come in and hack things all to pieces the first go-round). Sadly it will probably not be until it's out on Blu-Ray (and maybe not for a couple years thereafter). But it would be almost weird at this point if it didn't happen...

MemberOvomorphJun-05-2012 2:20 AMScott boasts that he always has control over the final cut of his films. Sad but true.
No petition is required. Market dynamics will ensure a directors cut/extended edition/special Blue Ray remixed sound with three extra seconds and free flute boxed sets.
I'd certainly sign a petition for a *coherent* cut of the film, though I suspect that may not be possible.

MemberOvomorphJun-05-2012 2:30 AM@Nysalor: LOL with the limited flute edition.
That said, this film needs a longer cut. The Alien creatures were fodder in the movie. They deserve some character devellopement, Mr Scott!!

MemberOvomorphJun-05-2012 7:27 AMI personally think a rewrite and reshoot would be better...
