(SPOILER) SSSSSLOWER THIS TIME

Disgusting yet beautiful at the same time!

i nearly threw up when I saw it...

not a spoiler, but yeah. personally, i think they elongated the horror of the facehugger scene in Alien masterfully. it was startling when it flung up into his face, even though you knew it was coming, thinking, "get your face away from that, dont stick your face over that!" the part where Ash and Dallas cut Kanes helmet off, and Dallas says, "My god," and we wee the thing wrapped around his head like that is completely original and horrifying in its own way. here we see it more intimately.

i labeled this post as a spoiler, just in case someone had not watched the latest clip perhaps this film should have a title card like some horror films did back in the 1950s PROMETHEUS: NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH! ha!

^ do you think people will puke/ be pissed/ walk out? like in 79 for the original? I know this is messed up but i kind of want it to happen ....

given that most people these days are not as naive as they were in the 1970's, i doubt this film would have that extreme of an effect on them at the same time, if that were to happen, as odd as it may sound, that would be a great selling point for curious folks who might want to see a film that made some folks vomit or disgusted enough to walk out of a film not likely...but still...

My wife may walk out....oh well, more popcorn for me:O)

@ These Things Aint Ants, Man Yes. It's the best possible press the film could ever get. In the bonus material on the Alien Anthology Blu-Ray set Ridley himself talks about sneaking around to watch the audience watch [i]Alien[/i] and realizing that when people got up to leave (while carefully making sure not to trip with their hands over their faces), the film was really going to be something HUGE. I feel that audiences these days are much more jaded than in ’79, but forced oral penetration like that is not something that young males are accustomed too seeing (or even thinking about). It's going to freak people out. The young males won't leave, but other members of the general public will. It's evokes a visceral human fear connected to gagging and suffocation combined with rape. Am i the only one with the reaction to the mouth scene of basically LOL alien mouth rape? Doesn't make me uncomfortable, i was like that's awesome/this movie is gonna be epic.

@Rawr That was my reaction as well. With or without a direct or indirect link to Alien this movie is going to easily surpass most if not every film this year and even this decade. With the exeption to some that were brilliantly written, directed and finalized.

It was on TV so it really can't be a spoiler.

I honestly don't think that anyone hanging out HERE will be leaving the theater over ANYTHING that Ridley can throw at us. Hell would freeze over first. But, I do think that (some) members of the general movie-going public aren't going to be able to take some of it. We'll see.

Well, I won't be hiding behind the chair this time.... Of course, I was like 11 at the time I first saw Alien. My wife takes pride in liking Saw and other horror movies. I can't stand the Saw movies because there doesn't seem to be a story except to move the next blood letting along. Some gore is hard for me to take if it is close to being real, see Touristas for an example, or a Taliban snuff film, yea my wife had me watch one... Horrible. Still, Hellraiser movies don't do much to scare me after the first one. So, after being told I am a wimp because I don't like Saw (and I stopped watching it), I want to take her to this movie to scare the crap out of her. Then we will see who is the real scaredy cat after seeing a quality horror movie.

@sukkal thanks for that drastic illustration LOLL the snake mouth penetration..not a bad way..I mean they had to create a complete new creature in different life stages..and the snake-out-of-mouth infection is a piece of fine horror..Argento would have liked that ;)
