Just imagine it folks... If a "second" film could be completed by the Holiday Season of 2014, we would then have a PREQUEL Trilogy collection of stories (all helmed by Ridley Scott) that would co-incide with the 35th Anniversary of the 1979 Original !!

We should all go at least twice! It's our duty to Sir Ridley!

OvomorphMember0 XPApr-12-2012 2:59 AMThat would be awesome, even though my pessimist half keeps whispering - Remember The Matrix! Remember The Matrix!...
But I dream nevertheless!
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

Sir Ridders is now 75 !! and he has been at this longer than most of us have literally been alive.
Im not sure how much longer he is going to keep this up, but I think that if he could somehow pull off being at the helm of an ALIEN TRILOGY, it would be a fitting way to end his career (NOT THAT I WANT TO SEE IT END ANYTIME SOON THOUGH! )

I've already planned a twofer on opening day, joining a crew of 23 seeing the film first in widescreen 3D, then shoot across town and catch it in IMAX 3D. I'm curious as to the remastering required for the IMAX version and if there's anything noticeablely different.
I'm pretty discriminating when it comes to actually going out to a film, mostly I just buy them for the home. As far as a trilogy goes, well, Ridley has a lot of properties in his sights, at least that's what he has said. Interestingly, Alan Ladd Jr was head of Fox when it shoved "Alien" in our unsuspecting faces, then founded his own company which gave us "Blade Runner" and I have to wonder exactly what to make of Ridley mentioning a sequel to that. And to complete a trilogy of sci fi? Ridley got interrupted the last time he tried that and there's one other property out there that he intended to follow "Alien" and "Blade Runner" with that just so happens to available now for development.
