This is going to a first person shooter type game for the PS3, XBox360, etc.
The storyline is that it will take place following the events of Alien(s) when a Marine Special Forces search party is sent to the USS Sulaco to find out what happpened to Ripley & Marine mission. They are gone obviously, but the still intact Sulaco is found in orbit of LV426 and is INFESTED with You know what was well as Weyland-Yutani mercs who have boarded it looking for You know what.
And interesting thing I just gathered is that there will also be a game mission/level depicting something down on the surface INSIDE THE DERELICT.
Aparently, Gearbox software was also invited to discuss the details of the Prometheus script with Ridley Scott...But dont know it this means anything??

Im not really a gamer but I DO ENJOY the odd first person shooter. Since I am an Alien fan, this will be a definate buy for me.
It looks VERY GOOD from what I have seen. Gearbox is a pretty good developer, so will probably be worth the purchase price.
Sheeeet... I had Aliens vs. Predator back in 1994 for the Atari Jaguar. That was 1 of the FIRST First Person shooter games on a home console ever. It was a pretty unique game for its time.

Various studios completely butchered Alien based games in recent years. The last good one was AVP 2 for windows, that was like 2000 i think. Only 1 predator in the marine missions made for a very Aliens-esque atmosphere. No I dont think it takes place on the colony, but the SULACO & apparently at least one mission/level IN THE DERELICT. Not sure about other possible locations.

What the heck happend to the ship and LV426 AFTER the events of Cameron's Aliens.
Could be a very cool thing if Gearbox and Sega do it right.

Not exactly sure... I think only FALL OF 2012 has been given out so far?
But that probably makes sense.. It probably will be timed to coincide with a movie DVD/Bluray release of Prometheus in time for the Holiday Season.

I am really looking forward to this game, and will be incredibly overjoyed if they have the presence of mind to add a 3rd person viewing option. IMO...this ONE feature, that is not including it as at least an option has led to the Massive failure of every single Alien Game ever made, or the ones that may have met with some success being completely crappy...This is a MUST HAVE option for Long annoying dizzying battles with Xenomorphs in a video game atmosphere, and I am flabbergasted that NOONE in the industry has even thought of this yet 33+ years later. Resurrection would have made a fantastic game had it been offered with a 3rd person option but it was so sickening in 1`st person that it lost all of it;s atmosphere because of it, was fun to play for about ten minutes instead you started getting sick from all the spinning around. Aliens VS Predator from SEGA for the PS3 is an awesome game but of there can be ONE solid critisism of it it is the same old obvious one...NO 3rd person Option, which is IMO 100% Mentally Retarded for Gaming MFG's to constantly leave out.
