I had set the still from the viral marketing site as a new pc wallpaper for a couple days now and a weird thought occured to me.
If you blow it up a bit, all of the orbital rings around systems seem to be made up of multi-toned rectangular shapes. Didn't think much of it, but I just thought there was something that just seemed very different than any chart depicted in sci-fi before.
Then it just sort of hit me... The rectangular blobs sort of seem like what is depicted in our current DNA mapping tests... the shaded blocks in a row type of image. Knowing what we know so far about this story, that God-like travellers have been seeding the universe with their creations for who knows how long, is it possible that the Map is not only a star chart, but a guide showing the complete make-up of the Engineers known universe?
Almost as if to say, all of the life forms within this system are based on this genetic DNA code, all of the life forms in that system are this code, and so on and so on??

If say, the Weyland Corporation got their hands on this, they would know every place that these beings have been, and planted seeds of life. And with our advancements in Space Travel, we could become the Supreme Rulers. As Weyland said in the Ted Conference, we are the Gods now... With this knowledge there would be no end to our advancement or control over the universe.

I think I saw your other thread, and you are right, this is a very interesting concept. This idea definitely seems a little bit more credible than us going there to still life creating goo. To have something like this, I think would be far more valuable. I mean, at this point, humans have created synthetic beings, it wouldn't be long before we actually bringing humans back to life and such. Yes someone on here did meantion about the Hieroglyphics in the HoloRoom ... can't remember who though ... they did post a similar image to the one below too ...
What I reckon it could mean is that, that symbol represents a planet or species and possibly the fact they have the DNA ... or they want to get hold of it ...

Yes, but you see what I am trying to say though. Imagine your watching a crime drama and the scene is a detective looking a printout of a DNA sample test. Its like were looking a cosmic map showing long DNA genetic code strands... As if the entire universe is like a giant living thing.. OK maybe I just took it to far, but...
Has anyone else made this comment before, re: DNA mapping?? I have only been here for 2 days.
I know its obvious its a detailed star map. But why would an ANDROID (who apparently IS looking for the answers to life itself) look all excited about what he is seeing. I mean, its not like a "road map" is going to excite him is it? They just travelled across the stars to get to the SJ world... so just a map should not really excite an android should it?

As for David ... yep deffo a big key in this too ... maybe he has to log it all and rebuild it back on Earth? ...
I had a weird vision of him actually being Weyland himself ... somehow ... connecting through some sort of Neuro connection? ... similar to the visor he wears while checking the CryoChambers ... if you look is says on the display 'Neuro-Visor Link Established' ...
Then it got weirder in a way that because Weyland is old and frail Weyland decides to put his brain (memory) inside of David so he can actually control what he wants on the mission ...
