Back in 2022, Alex Nice provided concept art and previsualizations for what became the opening sequence for Alien: Romulus! The start of the film involved the recovery of the Big Chap (aka Kane's Son) Xenomorph from 1979's original film, who was fossilized inside an Asteroid, but not dead! Later in the film it was revealed the Big Chap Xenomorph wrecked havoc on the Renaissance Station before Weyland-Yutani security forces managed to kill it.
The opening sequence was a brilliant callback to Ridley Scott's original film and while some may argue that realistically there wouldn't be much debris left from the Nostromo explosion, it still made for a great cinematic experience to set the film's tone and foreshadow events to come. Check out the artwork Alex recently shared below and let us know what you thought of the Alien: Romulus opening sequence in the comments below!
