Alien: Covenant Crew photo released ahead of new sneak peek coming tomorrow!

20th Century Fox have just shared an awesome new photo of the Alien: Covenant crew! Emulating the fateful dinner scene in Ridley Scott's original 1979 Alien, the photo captures the awakened Covenant crew members, gathered around their dining table. Katherine Waterston and Michael Fassbender head the front left and right sides of the table with James Franco standing in the middle of the team, at the far back. Franco is also wrapped in a blanket, suggesting he is not well.
In addition to the awesome photo (below) Fox have also unveiled that there will be a special sneak peek of Alien: Covenant TOMORROW during the TV show Legion on FX. So, be sure to keep an eye on Legion tomorrow for that special footage! If you're unable to watch Legion, then be sure to check out Alien-Covenant.com for when the footage is released online! I assumed Matt Scaletti was a part of the crew? If we take this image as all of the Covenant crew we will see in the movie, from those left on the Covenant, the Drop Ship Expedition and any rescue mission.
Again with Ridley's attention to detail and homage to Alien such as the little figurine on the table, the door color pattern behind the crew and the more primitive interface on the screens.
I agree. A fundamental part in a great film is to feel engaged by believable acting and characters we can relate to, like the space truck drivers in Alien.
Yes, it reminds us of "The Last Supper" in Alien, doesn't it? They were 7 on The Nostromo (the 8th passenger had an other taste in food) and fit around the small, round dinner table. The crew in The Covenant seem to be 15? They can't possibly fit around that small table? There has to be a canteen somewhere? Perhaps in the nest? :)
@BigDave Dont analyse too much. The scene being shot here is not in the movie its a promo piece. Plus Goran only wears a suit ;-) and Scaletti is only a background extra in a cryo bed.
RinaRhodon : I totally get what you mean, but also, the third lady on the left...guess it was her brown jacket, but she also reminded me a bit of Lambert.
now I'll be very glad if any of these actors can duplicate the same kind of intensity Veronica Cartwright brought to her Lambert performance...that feeling of being totally terrorized & doom

Maybe more to it? I mean they have been using Religious Symbolism in the past and even in AC, and so i wonder if this could be like the Last Supper?
Does this mean a Sacrificial Role for James Franco?
If not and if he dies earlier on and plays a small part then is his death not so much a Accident? Who is the Judas?
I find it interesting how Franco is positioned in this photo at the Center just as Christ from the Last Supper, but again we cant maybe read to much into this, as far as James Franco being at the center as far as him having a big role in the Plot.
If he is the Captain or even lead Corporation Representative then maybe this is all this means, Daniels and Walter on the either side as they are i think the TWO key players in the movie. Which we all know anyway.

It looks like Walter unless David goes to the Covenant and they get him some clothes..... he looks very sad at what ever happens and its as if he is watching something leave, or maybe become destroyed.

Indeed but it seems to be a shot taken after a scene in the movie, as the "See How it All Began" imagine shows.
I think indeed Goran would be playing either a Engineer, or potentially the guy in a Alien Suit. It will be interesting to see which.
Whats interesting is the comment you made about "Scaletti is only a background extra in a cryo bed"
I find it hard to see him listed as cast if he is to appear in the distance and so it has to be a shot that at least you can clearly make him out......
I always wondered if he was a contender for the Male who was next to Daniels in front of the Temple Shot, if we now discount that it does limit down the possibilities a lot... which i had from the Trailer narrowed down to just 2-3 anyway.
Without trying to spoil anything here, we had rumors of a members early fate and we do see those Cryo-Pods with one failed.... can we not consider if this could now be Scaletti instead?
Which could open up other possible avenues for the Male who is with Daniels after things have gone bad.
@BigDave what I meant is that this was a photographers shot whilst shooting one of the promo shorts, not shooting the movie narrative. This viral short is a poker game before the crew enter hypersleep and was directed by Ridleys son.
BD: Yes, I wonder what happens to the first captain? Does he die even before they arrive in "Paradise"? Why, in that case? Judas might be David (and Walter)?
Well in scholarly recordings Judas is said to have sat beside Jesus(Franco) first on the left during the last supper, but in Leonardo di Vinci's famous version he sits second from the right.... So no one trust the bearded dudes!
