Prometheus/Alien Series Timeline WIP

Thats a good idea, the events of post 2122 we all know about from Alien onwards, there is a lot of Mystrey sourounding the events between the discovery of LV 223 by Prometheus in 2093 and the events of Nostramo and LV 426 in 2122.

Never mind the events prior to LV 223 outbreak/possible sabotage some time around 0 AD

What would be interesting is when the Dark Horse Comics come out because they have been working closely with ideas Ridley had for the Franchise so maybe these could be considered canon to fill some of them gaps in.

What i am saying is the timeline has a lot of missing elements due to the nature of Prometheus Ambiguity and that while we would have to wait for a Part 2 to fill in gaps, maybe the Comic books can go some way to helping us when they are out in a few months.

Hey Gavin, first Great Idea. The whole plot is a bit irritating so the summary might be a good way to give us a distant view on the complex time line.

But I think, there are some aspect that could be worked out more explicite.

First the timeline itself, you wrote 2000 years ago but from what point? I suggest the static timeline (BC - Before Christ.) would work much better here.

I'm not sure if you want to prevent further (elementary) discussion but you should give us some sources/"proofs". For example: This might sound a bit stupid but where did the information come from, that the space jockey from Alien (crash-)landed on LV-426 2000 years ago (~0 AD) next to the events on LV-223? Until today I always thought this should be main part of Prometheus' story to tell us what happened.

Another Question: 35,000-1,400 years ago? You mean 35,000-1,400 BC do you?

I've added some request to the timeline, especially the 0 AD timeframe for the Juggernaut/Derelict landing on LV-426 - I remember Ridley mentioned this 2-3 years ago but cant remember when and where, any help tracking down that quote/interview woud greatly help the timeline.

Yes Ambiguity is key here, there is a lot of it so we dont have solid dates for certain things because none was never given in the movies,  and even Ridley when he made comments they was ambigious with regards to time line and events.

For example as NibbiX asked where you (Gavin) got the dates for LV 426 from...

Well Ridley did as you said say in a interview that the Space Jockeys craft had crashed on LV 426 (well he said it was not quite a crash so a rough/crash landing).  He said the event of this had occured within a few hundred years of the outbreak on LV 223 that killed off the Engineers.

Shaw said the Headless Engineer had been dead for 2000 years give or take, that would put that down to about 90 AD but Ridley said and hinted that the Engineers may had decided to wipe us out due to some event on Earth around that time, and hinted that the Crucifixion of Christ was the Last Straw for the Engineers.

So maybe we have to assume the Outbreak occured between 0AD and 100AD and so the Derelict crashed on LV 426 between 200 BC to 300 AD and we have to then ask, what is most likely, that the Engineers/Space Jockey was carrying his cargo hundreds years after the Outbreak on LV 223 while crashing not to far from there?  Or hundreds years prior.

Sorry if this is off topic, i was just trying to point out that Ridley never gave us a time line just few within hundreds years of LV 223 Outbreak so thats either 100-200 AD or 200-300 BC. But then depending which it is after or before outbreak and how its period of hundreds of years when consider what the Agenda of LV 223 outpost was at the time of outbreak futher adds more Mystrey if we consider either few hundred years before or prior to the outbreak.... i have few logical ideas that kind of then contridict some things we meant to believe regarding the Killing Jesus that got Engineers made angle.

Pretty sure there is no 0AD (it goes from 1BC to 1AD)

I'm curious to read the connection between the Engineers, The Predators, and the Xenomorphs in the upcomg cross-over series from Dark Horse Comics.

That would be interesting and the comics could give us some clues that can be added to the timeline if we are to class them as Canon... Ridley has worked with Dark Horse Comics and so has green lighted some things and let them explore certain things.... So if Dark Horse want to some how involve the predators to be behind the Xeno Origins, that it would be either the Comics are not going to tie in with Alien/Prometheus and Canon or that the Predator/Xeno connection is something that Ridley Green Light... not saying this is the case i am saying that anything Dark Horse shows regarding the Xeno/Engineer/Goo link would be something they would have discussed and got a nod from Ridley to go down what ever route they take.

As for Predators being part of Alien Canon... at the moment no.. but thats not to say they wont, if the Predator connection was done right it could have worked i.e based on timeline of the Video Games and not the Movies. 

As it is a bit funny that the Urns that contain the Goo have markings on that differ from the Engineer writtings and does look Predator Writting lol, but thats not to say it is.  But i have a funny feeling that somehow the Engineers either Stole the Goo from some other race or that they used their Goo on some other Bio Weapon created by some other race.

I really want the Derelict which crash landed on LV426 to have originated from LV223 via an Engineer pilot who escaped the doomed group. I would love to think that he was face hugged on LV223, escaped, bursted and crashed on LV426. The Xeno which bust matured and layed the eggs.... Perfect link to Alien.

Can we see the Comics as Canon?

Maybe they would give us clues?

Ridley did say that the Derelict and Space Jockey met their fate within a few hundred years of the fall of the LV 223 outpost and outbreak some 2000 years ago when they set off to Earth but things went wrong.

But logically could this be few hundred years prior?  If so was the Eggs a First Attempt and then it ws back to the drawing board to Re-Weaponize on LV 223?

Was these Eggs being carried to LV 223 to be experimented on?

If it was few hundred years after, then that makes things a bit more complicated, if its something that Evolved on the Ship after it crashed? But Ridley said the ships Cargo was Eggs.

Did on Ship later after its Pilot went into Cryo Sleep like Last Engineer, wait for something to Evolve and then proceed to Earth but not get to far?

Did these Eggs Evolve after the LV 223 outbreak and the Space Jockey collected them to transport to Earth or some place else?

I guess maybe we shall never know.
