*NOTE: "precious suit" is the nickname given to the suit by the artists who worked on it*

The thing maintains their physiology and monitor their health during cryostasis (acknowledged by sfx artists who gave it its nickname), and eventually does plenty other stuff we don't know of... Plus, it looks almost fused to/symbiotic with their body (forearms/neck). I think it has plenty enough to deserve being nicknamed "precious suit" that way...
OvomorphMember0 XPJun-15-2012 10:45 AMthanks @iapetus, I was going to ask what the purpose of the suit was b/c it appeared to be fused with the skin...was beginning to wonder if maybe they were a different type of engineer if the suit was actually skin like than the sacrificial engineer at the beginning....beautiful stuff..!
OvomorphMember0 XPJun-15-2012 2:53 PMFirst, these pictures are great! The suit is defnitely a work of art! I can't wait for the 1/6th scale Hot Toys collector figure!
Second, I feel robbed that these images (and many more, I'm sure) were not included in "Prometheus: The Art of the Film ". As soon as I went through the book, I strongly suspect they had left too much out. Don't get me wrong, the book is nice and was very affordable at Amazon. But I would have rather paid 3 times the price if it was a complete book including high-res versions of the pics above and all the other pics/artwork that I'm SURE should have been included.
