Ridley Scott, Michael Fassbender and Danny McBride will be in attendance at SXSW this year to debut a special sneak peek of Alien: Covenant as well as a screening of the 1979 original film, Alien. It is currently unknown whether or not the event will contain a fan Q&A session, but we do know it will take place on March 10th at 10:00pm CT at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas.

20th Century Fox is taking you back to the original terror that taught us in space no one can hear you scream. Join director Ridley Scott with Michael Fassbender and Danny McBride to re-experience the original 1979 film and catch a sneak peek of their new film "Alien: Covenant" that will be in theaters May 19, 2017.

Will you be in attendance at SXSW 2017 this year? If so, let us know! We will be looking for detailed descriptions of the footage shown. Sound off in the comments section if you plan on attending!

The Alien franchise is taking a dramatic turn at 20th Century Studios, now owned by Disney. Currently there are two major Alien projects in development - a new Alien TV series by Noah Hawley and a new, stand-alone Alien movie being directed by Fede Alvarez. Both of which will be taking the franchise in a new direction - moving away from the Alien prequel direction Ridley Scott set out to pursue back in 2012.

Unlikely that there will be a live stream, they usually don't allow filming for these sorts of presentations.

with the showing of Alien and then a sneak peek of Alien: covenant it makes me wonder if it will indeed tie into each other even though there are rumors and quotes which in the scheme of things are irrelevant until the movie is actually released.

Wtf is SXSW?

FacehuggerMember159 XPFeb-17-2017 6:35 AM

South by Southwest... a conference and festival for film, music, arts.  Started in 1986.

Sounds like a fantastic trio with Ridley's insight in filmmaking and brutal honesty, McBride's sense of humour and Fassbender's professional demeanour with his humble approach towards questions. Not to generalise too much but that's the impression I've got from them in several interviews each.
