In a fresh interview with FOX News, Katherine Waterston, who plays the lead female character (Daniels) in Alien: Covenant, discussed how Ridley Scott's original Alien traumatized her for life after seeing it at a young age (which most of us can relate to), as well as discussing her work on Covenant, specifically with regards to her own stunt work.
During the interview, which you can watch below, Waterston explains that doing the action scenes in Alien: Covenant was a "pure joy", but also physically demanding. She mentions that Ridley Scott essentially had to "pull her off of the wires" because she would get so into her role and push herself to limits she didn't know she was capable of.
Given the above, it's safe to assume that Waterston will be bringing some serious heat to Alien: Covenant, much like Sigourney Weaver did in Aliens.
Waterston also reiterates that the USCSS COVENANT is a colonizing vessel, full of couples, en-route to a new planet to populate, with no intention of returning to Earth. Check out the full interview below:

The Alien franchise is taking a dramatic turn at 20th Century Studios, now owned by Disney. Currently there are two major Alien projects in development - a new Alien TV series by Noah Hawley and a new, stand-alone Alien movie being directed by Fede Alvarez. Both of which will be taking the franchise in a new direction - moving away from the Alien prequel direction Ridley Scott set out to pursue back in 2012.
