Javier Botet is Alien: Covenant's Xenomorph! Standing at a staggering 1.97 meters tall, Javier is a Spanish actor who was born with Marfan Syndrome, a genetic disorder affecting connective tissue. The result of Marfan Syndrome leaves its affected with elongated limbs and joints. People diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome tend to be very tall and lanky, as well as extremely flexible. His latest venture is none other than the nightmarish Protomorph / Xenomorph in Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel!
Javier recently confirmed his involvement with Alien: Covenant through Instagram:
Paired with the fine work of Odd Studio and Creatures Inc, Javier Botet will help bring Ridley's vision to life, giving us an old school feel to a classic monster and we can't wait to see him in action!

The Alien franchise is taking a dramatic turn at 20th Century Studios, now owned by Disney. Currently there are two major Alien projects in development - a new Alien TV series by Noah Hawley and a new, stand-alone Alien movie being directed by Fede Alvarez. Both of which will be taking the franchise in a new direction - moving away from the Alien prequel direction Ridley Scott set out to pursue back in 2012.

What is staggering in being 1.9 metre high? Yes, he is high, but being staggering high sounds as if he was 2.1 metre hight. :P
Edit: I see that someone edited the news and now he is 7 cm taller. With 1.97 metre he is very tall, but still not staggering high (at least for Central and Northern European standards :P)...
Lol suwhited he was spot-on as The Penguin though, but if he was cast to play the xeno, the other actors on the set would probably have a hard time acting "terrified"
@Chris, you'll notice him he will be the one that just waddles everywhere going waa waa waa waa waaaaaa, and the long cigarette filter hanging out of his slobbery chops, oh and the top hat as well lol!
Look up some of the movies he's been in you would think it's CGI but he's actually the character he's very flexible scary and quick I can't remember any right now but there will horrifying he's been in plenty.
He's pretty much the same height as the xenomorph too. This will be the most effectively executed xeno in movie history.. screw all the CG haters. Clueless idiots.
There's a red band trailer out now and the only difference I could tell was a quick shot of an engineer with some type of nails in its back and appears to have been oozed
@ripley05 Thanks for the heads up. I watched it and yeah that scene, Callie Hernandez in the shower with blood all over her and Carmen Ejogo saying let me the **** out of here are the only things I noticed are different. And those last two parts are from the first trailer. Oh I think it shows Rigby's back opening up, also from the first trailer. So yeah I think you are right, one new scene. Thanks again
for those who don't know 1.97 meters is very close to six and a half feet, to be exact it translates to approximately 6.463255 feet, so pretty tall while the average male is 5.6 feet tall, and the average female is 5.2 feet.
Great choice of casting,I like his "female" roles in REC and Mama.
Botet is 6ft 6 47/64 in ( around 2m),since the alien creatures in this film have more animalistic leg joints it would add more inches to the actor's height, thus making him I suppose somewhere closer to 7ft.Judging from the trailer, that protomorph does look really huge.
The guy that played big chap from alien was 6ft10in and really skinny, and that alien had more human legs.
Indeed they could CGI overlay onto a Man in Suit and even use Motion Capture and they could then super impose the Xeno to be bigger than the Actual Actor in the Suit.
I think close ups, they will use the Suit and Animatronics
