The future of Alien
The Alien franchise is taking a dramatic turn at 20th Century Studios, now owned by Disney. Currently there are two major Alien projects in development - a new Alien TV series by Noah Hawley and a new, stand-alone Alien movie being directed by Fede Alvarez. Both of which will be taking the franchise in a new direction - moving away from the Alien prequel direction Ridley Scott set out to pursue back in 2012.

I grew up with Sir John's extraordinary portrayals of Olivander from the first Harry Potter film, and as Professor Broom from Hellboy. His incredible talents, and unforgettable voice have been a part of my life since I was a child, and he will always remain one of my favorite actors of all time.
Another great has been lost, but never forgotten. God speed, Mr. Hurt. You are truly one of the greatest of the greats.
He was and still is an idea that remains with each of us. You can not say "farewell" to those whom have not been lost. We should feel grief for no longer having him amongst us in a physical capacity. However, we must always remember that life does not end when the atoms we temporarily own begin to change into something new. It is simply another of the universe's mysterious transformations. :)
A true talented Legend who is so versatile in the kinds of roles he plays and always seems to do a very good job with every role he has ever taken, and also some amazing performances to boot.
On Stage or TV or on Film, his talents will be lost but never forgotten.
So sad, one of my favourite actors, a truly incredible character actor. What a breadth and depth of work, he was never afraid to take on controversial or challenging roles.
No actor has ever moved me as much, he was outstanding.
A Man For All Seasons, Midnight Express, ALIEN, 1984, The Elephant Man and Hellboy are amongst my favourites. But John was wonderful in every role, whether large or small.
Like the true professional he was, he kept on working right up to the end, his last role was in the upcoming Jackie.
RIP John Hurt. A sad loss and amazing versatile talent. He never ceased to amaze me, where he could just pop up unexpectedly in films and brought life to his characters. As much as he could be the main star in a film, he always added something extra in his supporting roles with films like Snowpiercer and Outlander for example. I certainly feel gutted about his passing.
not fair. not one bit! john was meant to see the scene that topped the original chestburster scene. the universe is cruel. he should have been allowed to stay......at least for the new scene. scott must be devastated. i know deep down....scott made the scene for john
I am so saddened with grief as I know everyone is with his untimely passing.
John may you rest in eternal happiness and true salvation for eternity. I too believe that John has transcended this earthly plane and arrived at total consciousness.
You will we be missed with great love and affection for all of your acting roles and so shall your spirit remain in these works that will enlighten other generations yet to come.
Forever and eternity John please rest in joy and all peace.
