Things are really starting to heat up for Alien: Covenant now! Apparently, according to Twitter user hi_flyer7, who is relatively close to the production of Alien: Covenant, a Trilobite has been spotted on-set (as well as in storyboards). The Trilobite was the Alien that Shaw gave birth to near the end of Prometheus, which impregnated the Engineer, which spawned the Deacon. Does this mean a similar process occurs in Alien: Covenant? Or is the Trilobite the current evolutionary state of the Facehugger before David's advancement of the DNA? So many questions....

Also, thanks to hi_flyer7, we also now know that a gun battle breaks out on Paradise. He describes it as:

Group of scientists / geologists attacked on new world. Gun battle. Security guard (from Weyland?) seen on set.

From the sounds of things Weyland may be trying to keep Paradise a secret and some of the crew wish to leave and/or expose what they've discovered.

This thing better impregnates someone because I want to see an adult deacon killing people.

The Trilobite alien (that impregnated the Engineer which in turn made the Deacon) was interesting. Some people might complain about the monsters in Prometheus but I think that they were alright. I wouldn't mind seeing a new version of the Trilobite alien in Alien Covenant.

Dark Nebula: Maybe the adult Deacon would have another way of killing people compared to the Xeno? I am not sure what the new way would be but it could be made interesting.

Originally I thought the Trilobite and the Deacon were one of a kind, a freak accident resulting from an unimaginable scenario (to the Engineers). Adult male human gets infected by black goo - impregnates female human - female human births Trilobite - Trilobite impregnates Engineer - Engineer births Deacon. There's no way that could happen twice... or so I thought.

This suggests that the Trilobite may in fact be the proto-Facehugger everyone originally speculated it would be. It's not by going theory that David plays a role in taking the DNA of the Alien one step further in creating the iconic Facehugger and Biomechanical Xenomorph.

It is my belief that the Trilobite and the Deacon are not accidents but examples of the genesis strain of the Xenomorph, the proto-form so to speak. I was going to show this in the graphic novel I did some time ago - Prometheus: Absolution, but couldn't find the satisfactory source images to effectively portray an evolution over generations from the Deacon to the more recognisable Xenomorph we are familiar with.

I still feel like David is going to advance the Xeno-DNA from what it's currently at (Trilobite / Deacon) to the eventual Facehugger and Xenomorph. Perhaps Shaw is the thing David needs in order to advance the genome. Trilobite and Deacon, like the Engineers are larger, older DNA where as the Facehugger and Xeno are smaller, more efficient, newer DNA. Makes sense, no?

Biologically, the facehugger don't make a genétic exchange with the host ,so the Xeno wouldn't have to change his form although his host be different.........but  the trylobite comes of a genetic exchange(shaw and holloway infected)  so are very differents.......xeno would be a drone or a   worker  , and deacon would be a queen.(that give birth the eggs of the facehuggers)

I think that  deacon is a Queen, .......the trylobite don't make a genetic exchange with the engineer, so it wouldn't be so difficult that the story begin to happen again................only needs that a human of the crew, be infected, and have sexual relationships with other human. Then appears the trylobite, and it impregned another human(without genétic exchange,an engineer or a human are the same, simply a host).

I think Shaw actually may have been impregnated with an asexual fetus, perhaps growing as many Trilobites possible to ensure the survival of the weird species! Which very well explains their existence in Covenant.

This could be a valid options if we consider the...

What if the Goo is like Sperm?  Sperm does not look like tadpoles does it, only under the microscope?

What if part of the Goo, is actually a worm like microbe a parasite?  The source did suggest the Goo was a Parasite, but now they had evolved it to being more than that.

If the Goo is similar to Sperm and Holloways glass was infected with a number of these tiny microbes.... they could pass through to Shaw via Sex and one of them could infect one of her Eggs.... and thus the Trillobite.

This could explain the Holloway Eyeworm as being a rogue Parasite.... come to think of it if we look at it like that then the idea is not to far from Spaights Nano Scarabs... which are now Nano Worms (Alien Sperm)

Indeed this one image may have backed this idea up..

I did a while ago think of this as a explanation, to counter the Eye Worm and why?  Latter i came across these images that could maybe back that up....

And so again i will leave it as a theory here a long time after i first discussed it.

And so yes, once Shaw has removed the Trillobite, maybe there are a few Nano Worms inside her that can once again infect one of her Eggs.

Like a Female can get pregnant again once she gives birth or has a miscarriage etc.  And so with this Theory then yes Shaw could become Pregnant the same again.

I've also wondered about the photo you've included. I actually saw it for the first time in one of your other posts.

I initially thought perhaps (just as with the worms) the black goo turned Holloway's sperm (or gut bacteria) into hyper-aggressive organisms that not only destroyed his body but also infected Shaw's reproductive system.

I am now more inclined (after reading Spaiht's draft) to agree that the black goo itself may be sperm-like. It certainly has similar characteristics.

Something that has been bothering me for a while and If it is a stupid question then please forgive my stupidity. However, I am 100% sure that there is a small scene between Shaw and Holloway where she says that she cant have children. Being a man and not really understanding the female body this would suggest to me that her reproductive system doesn't work. Therefore Holloways sperm wouldn't have an egg to connect to? Does this make sense, Im doubting myself now!

She may be infertile for a number of reason.  The fetus might not be able to attach to her uterus because of endometriosis, her eggs might get stuck in her Fallopian tubes, she may have cysts on her ovaries that make it hard to produce fertile eggs.  she may produce viable eggs just no way for a regular fetus to attach and grow.  Super Squid fetus though could probably attach to anything organic.  Just a thought.
