A little late for Easter.... (was busy)

I had planned this Topic 2 Months ago but thought i would keep it until Easter.

I would like to look at the Various Origins for the Eggs, and debate which is the preferred route, which route you think they could end up giving us.  and generally debate all things Xenomorph Eggs.  Looking into the History/Evolution of the PLOT and Origins here are the Options that had been considered/changed.

1) Starbeast:  The earliest incarnation of ALIEN and the story it was based off by Dan'OBannon had indicated that the Alien Organisms Eggs (Spores) were the remnants of a Intelligent Ancient Alien Species Parasitic Life Cycle.  These Eggs were the Start/End Stage of their Life Cycles and this Ancient Race had disappeared from a Alien World, with only their Ritual Birthing/Incubation Pyramids remaining with the Dormant Eggs/Spores.  A Giant Alien Race had came across this Pyramid and became infected with the Eggs/Spores, and had set of a Warning Beacon.

Conclusion:  Eggs are a Natural Alien Species.

2) David and Walters ALIEN: This draft by David Giler and Walter Hill had shown that the Parasitic Organism (Spores) were a secret Biological Weapon created by a Human Organization, and they conducted Tests on a World that contained those Spores. Were the Company Lured in Test Subjects (Humans) by Fake SOS Beacon.

Conclusion: Eggs are a Bio-Weapon created by Mankind.

3) Alien:  The movie showed us these Eggs were contained in a Cargo Hold that was indicated as being part of a Derelict Alien Ship, in which it was indicated the Pilot had been Infected by his CargoRidely Scott had added in context to ALIEN that the Xenomorph was a Bio-Weapon that the Derelict Ships Pilot had been carrying on his Ship.

Conclusion:  Eggs are a Bio-Weapon Created/Obtained by the Space Jockey Race.

4) Aliens: This movie (and its sequels) seemed to NOT expand on is predecessor as far as giving a Origins to the Eggs, but the introduction of a Queen did draw some to consider the Organism was something that was not CREATED but something that was obtained, yet it was still never indicated exactly the Organisms Origin.

Conclusion: Created Bio-Weapon or Existing Organism (ambiguous)

5) Alien Engineers: The Prequel Draft to ALIEN indicated the Xenomorph was a Engineered Bio-Weapon created by the Space Jockey Race (Engineers).  It loosely indicated this was Engineered from some other Organism the Engineers (Space Jockey) had encountered.

Conclusion:  Eggs are a Bio-Weapon Created by the Space Jockey (Engineer) Race.

6) Prometheus:  The Prequel to the ALIEN Franchise was ambiguous but it did give some clues to suggest the same/similar Plot as Alien Engineers, which was Xenomorph was a Engineered Bio-Weapon.  Which Ridley Scott confirmed to be the case.

Conclusion:  Eggs are a Bio-Weapon Created by the Space Jockey (Engineer) Race.

7) Alien Covenant:  The sequel to Prometheus had indicated to us that David had Created the Xenomorph via experimenting with the Engineers Bio-Weapon and Creation Tool, while this is the indication, some still speculate this is not the case.

Conclusion:  Eggs are a Bio-Weapon Created by a Synthetic (David).

8) HR Giger's Interpretation:  A Wild-Card could be that we look at HR Giger and his ideas/interpretation, where he had felt the Cargo Hold/Ship would Produce the Eggs, and that these Ships are Grown.  He did-not seem to offer any information on the relationship between the Pilot and Cargo but only as far as the Pilot would be Infused with the Ship. Indicating also that the Pilot, Ship and Cargo all shared a connection.

Conclusion:  Undisclosed only that the Pilot, Ship and Cargo are connecting maybe in some Symbiotic way?

However until we see the Actual Scene or indication of WHEN/HOW those Eggs get onto the Derelict then a lot is open up for debate.

Which route would you prefer, or even Suggest (9) Another route. Which do you feel we would be shown, or also which would you least like to be shown.

Happy Easter! (*)

@BigDave You have a lil' mistake. 7 has no conclusion but 8 has 2.

2 & 7 worst options ever.

8 - best mixed with 1. 8 - best mixed with 1

So, it's my 9 route. Juggernauts (Derelicts) it's final form of alien. They travel around space and search worlds suitable for them. But who is the Space Jockey? Or he a slave/servant of alien race, or he is... an intruder! Look - the pilot's platform completely metallic/mechanical. In second option - he stole (and subjugated) the Derelict... but not the cargo.

Thanks Ignorant Guy...

I have corrected it, what happened was i decided to add a 8th option that was NEVER any actual Draft idea or Movie, but just some of HR Gigers ideas/interpretation and i placed this Option above the Conclusion to 7 lol

@Leto

I agree i am glad we never had 2, and i am not pleased with the 7th route...   but i think its the intention, but then it needs some changing to make David merely the Middle Man.

When i saw ALIEN and the Franchise prior to the Internet Days (well widespread) i had the impression the Space Jockey had this Bio-Weapon for some kind of Unknown Conflict, or he had obtained them for some Experiment/Other Purpose.

The advent of DVD and Internet Use had allowed me to Study it more, where it then appeared to me like there was by NO Coincidence a Aesthetic Connection and the Space Jockey was some Bio-Mechanical being of similar construction to the Xenomorph... this does not mean the same... just as a Human is Constructed the same as a Horse but we are NOT the same... so they had that Bio-Mechanical Organism/Machine Aesthetic and this was a interesting Mystery to me.

I was drawn to the connection being the Space Jockey Race had Engineered a Weapon that they had Engineered from a combination of themselves and their Technology...

OR maybe the Eggs was how they would Procreate when used on a Certain Species.... but when used on Humans it Produced the Xenomorph instead.

So i think Option 8 as far as using some of this could be a ideal way forward...

Your Option 9, is in essence taking Option 8 and expanding it..  because indeed HR Giger seemed to indicate the Xenomorph and Derelict sharing like a Aesthetic/Genetic Connection and the Ship acted as like a Queen.

The Xenomorph becomes a Derelict, is a interesting idea, its one that had been thrown about on here before... its a Question of does ONE become the Ship, does a Queen eventually become a Ship and HOW does the Queen fit with this idea?

I think for me the Biggest Problem with the Xenomorph being the Hierarchy of it all, as in they create the Ships or become them... is IF the Cargo and Mission is that Important it seems pretty Foolish to allow a Enslaved Race to Pilot the Ship when they can be infected with the Cargo and then where does that leave you as far as where you Off-Spring will now end up?

I think introducing something else thats Bio-Mechanical could work, that Enslave the Space Jockey in return for something... but then its a case of what relation are the Eggs to those Masters?

Exploring that those Eggs are NOT intended for Mankind, but something else that would Benefit or Procreate their Species (Master Race) but that when these Eggs infect Humans then the Off-Spring become something different and more Feral than intended.

And so NOT say the Ultramorph Species... as intended..

So yeah i think introducing the Starbeast Plot with a touch of HR Giger ideas is the way to go...

Everything sounds fine to me except for David or The Company creating the eggs. That makes it less Alien-y somehow.

I agree a mix of 1 and 8 seems best. Based on readings and Giger art, it seems the original Juggernaut landed on top of an egg silo and the magic began.

David in my opinion is didn't create the xenomorph. He imitated, perhaps even attempted to perfect them. There was too much to much evidence in Prometheus to suggest a xenomorph outbreak on LV-223.

Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for

Well this seems the route they are taking (David) but i think you would be hard pushed to find a Fan who thinks this was the correct route...

Its about Damage Control right NOW... they either have to show Davids Xenomorph is his own Creation/Re-Creation and Evolve it, but also give clues to show that the LV-426 Eggs predated his experiments.

Conclusion: David Re-Creates his own Variant.

Or have the Engineers or those above them, take Davids Proto-Xenomorph and Evolve it to become those Eggs on LV-426...

Conclusion: David is merely the Middle Man, the M of the A-Z Origins of the Eggs..

2 and 7 are horrible, the rest are alright.

Interesting post BD, thanks.

I think this shows a kind of agreement...

We have all had different likes/dislikes and wants and not wants....  we could all offer different takes on 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 or combinations..

The more people that PARTAKE in this... would shown any EYES at Disney/Fox... that a route like 2 and 7 would be seen as Blasphemous by the VAST Majority of Fans.

I am sure we could pick Bones at each others wishes... but i think we could accept them more than IF they gave us a 2 or 7.

You wont make everyone Happy with what ever we do...

But you sure as HELL wont make Many Happy with a David or Weyland-Yutani Create what becomes those Eggs on the Derelict.

A David or Weyland-Yutani Experiment with those Eggs or Black Goo to create something else, if DONE right i feel would be more accepting!

I think even having the Predator Create the Eggs would be more pleasing to Fans than 2/7 LOL

I think I would prefer that the xenomorph was a species which had evolved in a harsh environment. The engineers would then have found the eggs and transported them to different places (e.g. LV-223) to study them. The black goo was eventually the result of their experiments.

The other way around would be OK: The engineers create the xenomorph through experiments with the black goo.

The least appealing variant is David creating the xenomorph. This is, however, the path Ridley Scott has chosen so that’s probably what we’ll get in the final chapter. This doesn’t mean that it wouldn’t be interesting. David is a very interesting character and played magnificently by Fassbender.

If Scott would present us with the final link to Alien, it seems likely that David has used the 2000 colonists aboard USCSS Covenant and turned them into the eggs that we have in the cargo hold of the Derelict on LV-426.

A juggernaut would be easy to get on LV-223 but I wouldn’t want David as the Space Jockey. Perhaps an engineer in a heroic act trying to get rid of the eggs but falls prey to them? Not a good idea with the beacon, though. :)

Sorry if it is OT or if it has been mentioned before, but I think the egg morph scene- how it gradually altered the victims- may have been a result of a less concentrated version of the black goo.

Certainly chli

We all have our own wishes and interpretations, i know some dont agree with RS and what he had said, but if we look at this then it CONCLUDES that the Xenomorph was either USED as a Bio-Weapon and Experimented on it to Create others.  Or that the Engineers had Created the Xenomorphs (or it Evolved) from Experiments/Outbreak on LV-223

In Ridley Scotts eyes for 35 years the Eggs were a Cargo of the Derelict that the Space Jockey Race would use for Bio-Logical Weapons..

Prequels
prior to Alien Covenant intended to explain this more deeper, and RS comments at this time even EXPLAINED what had happened.

Then 35 years of this.... they came up with the DAVID creates it U-Turn/Curveball.   I wonder if in Hindsight they think this was a mistake?

May be wishful thinking but i think if they FOX/Disney pay attention to Fan Reaction, then they would see that maybe a continuation with this Curve-Ball would be FOLLY and they would not want Fans to then Boycott the Franchise over it.

So things could be changed again!
