I don't know if this was discussed already somewhere...
Just recently rewatched Alien: Covenant on Blu-ray and one thing got me into thinking.
In the grass attack scene, while the crew was shooting and trying to kill the Neomorph, it was dodging bullets like the Neo from the Matrix.
Maybe that's why they were named NEOmorphs.
They are indeed new aliens, neo in ancient Greek means "New" or "young".
And Ridley said that they are the first generation of alien.
Dark Nebula love the NEOmorph banner picture.
Lawrence of Arabia great gif hahaha
The scene when David was trying to tame the Neomorph and made it not attack.
Poor Neomorph trusted David but Oram shot it.
'Poor Neomorph trusted David but Oram shot it.'
I'm sure the neomorph was totally confused: "WTF? It speaks but it isn't alive!!! Should I kill it?" :D
When Neomorph saw David it stared at him totally confused since David was synthetic, but when Oram came I'm pretty sure Neomorph would attack him since he is made of meat, but David made Neomorph not to attack. But Oram shot it.
"How could you... It trusted me!"

David would ensure Oram was dead either way. Oram should have capped David while he had the chance but...
Dark Nebula That's what I thought as well, David was taming the creature making it not a threat until Oram went all Rambo. While I can see why Oram started to suspect David, with him being more worried over the Neo than Rosie, that doesn't necessarily scream evil mastermind. For all Oram knew, David was friendly to all creatures and wanted to mediate lol
"The trick, William Potter, is not minding that it hurts."
