What is strange however, is Fox changed the A:C poster for its BR release. Possibly after reaction to it not being relevant to the story. Now we have a Xeno and Daniels on the poster for this book.

Perhaps Daniels is in training and that is why she is in a suit with a gun. Perhaps the Xeno is a reminder that it is an Alien universe. I dont see any possibility of a Xeno in the book but i will be examining every page !!lol

I feel it strange though that a prequel novel covers the Colony mission preparations and we have a 10 year gap in the main story. So whle David and Shaw are doing whatever they did, this story will cover an entirely different part of the universe.

Does that mean we will get flashbacks in A:A and that is why it wasnt covered? keeping the mystery alive ?  Who knows

There are several different Covenant Blu Ray covers, none of which are the same as any of the various movie posters.

Prometheus had several different movie posters as well. It also had several different Blu Ray covers, none of which were the same as the movie posters.

Again i have to Question the Marketing and those behind all this at FOX, as the Books Cover again looks misleading.  Again i guess they have to show the Xenomorph so people looking at this book will make a connection that the book is linked to the Movie.

When actually the book while links to the Movie will have not a single connection to the Xenomorph... unless the book covers any kind of twist or information behind what W-Y know about LV-223 and Davids where abouts.

Surely ADF has worked close with FOX/RS on this and so this book will maybe give us a Time of when the Covenant finally gets underway towards Oregae-6, which will help us to see how this fits with Covenants Time Line as i assume the ship is not on a 7 year mission as some time would already had past during the mission due to it having to Recharge with the Sails.

I think the book can give some insider information to Corporate conspiracy and espionage and turmoil behind the scenes.

What is interesting is this is stating the Covenant is the most ambitious mission the Company has taken part in and is off to Charter Distance Areas of Space we have not explored as far as Mankind (which goes against the Weyland Prometheus Viral site which has shown Mankind has explored much further prior to Prometheus).

But we cant take the Viral Prometheus site as Canon as far as the Discover New Worlds part of the site.

It seems the book is painting a picture that things are getting bad on Earth, so bad that there is some good reason Mankind needs to start to establish Large Off World Colonies.  So it would be interesting if we get some back ground to this.

Alien Resurrection also painted a Dire Turmoil on Earth at some previous date, and gives clues that there was a few uprisings from Synthetics in the Past.

Looking at how RS has seemed to be exploring the Themes of Rebellion and David 8, it is possible a Hubris to Mankind in the Pursuit and Creation of AI has its drawbacks.   And so in part RS could be hinting at some kind of Terminator/Matrix kind of Plot as far as Rebellious, Sentient AI and the adverse affect it would have on Mankind.

Indeed as Kethol says though, they do a lot of alternative Covers for the Movies....

I think they had to link the Alien a bit so people know this Book is connected to Alien Covenant, when really the Title should have been enough..... i think they could have got some Artist to do a different kind of Cover, with a interesting Tag-Line.

I am so glad this book was written!  This could improve the story of A:C as well.  Sadly, it most likely wont make the Xenomorph as scary as it used to be in the 70's, 80's, and 90's.  I am still excited to learn more about the corporate side of the Alien franchise.  So far, according to the movies, we aren't offered much.  I guess there could be some info in A:R, but I haven't seen that in awhile.  Still, the picture painted in my mind is the Weyland Co. only cares about the dollar and will lie, cheat, and steal to get what they want.  If Weyland Yutani funded a colonization mission, then that paints a different picture.  The question is what was there reasoning.  I can't trust Weyland Yutani at the moment, but maybe that will change with this new novel.  I can't wait!
