This is going to be awesome. I hope my Covenant t-shirts arrive in time.

Also, Facehuggers! are you going to disguise our voices to sound like dying androids?

1 & 3 sound pretty similar. Can you give an example of 1?

Are there any technical requirements for the video other than submitting as an mp4? I guess pecifically: What raster size?

Erm..... Maximum 3 Minutes... oh dear... doubt i could squeeze into 60 Minutes ;)

Nice idea though ;)

I hope that the only AWAKENING we are in for is FOX/RS wake up and learn from their mistakes.

cuponator3000 I did a short test video in wmv, bought a basic mp4 converter online, sent to Facehuggers! and it worked fine. It is not HD but I think the point will get across. I don't think we have to worry too much about the specs you ask about. After all, we shoot for the best but it is also a start point for this forum as far as I can see.

Darn. My disguise probably won't work out. I guess I might have to do the old bank robber pantyhose over the head bit. Sunglasses too. I know, only the blind and assholes wear sunglasses indoors, but there it is.

I am still planning on participating, but still waiting on my Covenant T-shirt which I want to wear in the picture!

I hope that taking a video with my laptop will work, I'm not that tech savvy.

VivisectedEngineer I am using my laptop with a basic webcam program it came with. I sent a test video to Facehuggers! and he/she approved!

To all,

My intent is not to insult, but I wonder if some members may not participate due to varying levels of technical expertise and/or being camera shy etc.

I would encourage everyone to go for it. Remember that we want this to be good and fun, but some like me freeze when it is time to talk and I make mistakes. If the shoe fits, I have some basic steps to follow:

  1. I came up with a general idea for each question and typed them as topics- basically like the basics of writing an essay
  2. I brainstormed and wrote a rough script and will hone those
  3. Make sure my webcam works and I have decent lighting etc
  4. Rehearse and record until I get it how I like to present. This can take time since I might stutter or sneeze etc.

Have fun! In the words of the late great Lemmy of Motorhead, "Fly your flag up the pole and see who salutes it!"

I wonder if we should send it to Neill Blomkamp to see if it inspires him to give his Alien idea one more shot (sans Ripley perhaps).

About Alien: Covenant

Alien: Covenant Movie

Release Date:

May 19th, 2017

Plot Synopsis:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS -- and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
