This is for those more experienced than I.This is the first forum I've ever joined and i gotta say it's one of the best decisions I have ever made.I've been on here for roughly 3 months and have never once regretted it.I've made a lot of friends here, and while we don't always agree on the same things, this is such a fantastic, respectful, and amazing community.I really don't think I would have been taken as seriously elsewhere. Now for my question,I've been lurking on other forums from other sites for years and they had me worried about what it would be like here.A lot of nastiness and bullying and straight up trolling. That seldomly happens here,we've got Chris,Rick, and the others looking out for us,keeping the peace. So from your experiences elsewhere and compared to Scified, how have you guys been treated elsewhere compared to here?Because I love this place!

This site popped my cherry. You Tube doesn't count imo. It is a great site with a good vibe and generally nice and supportive members. There is some in fighting here and there but what can be expected for 32K people scattered all over the world. This is the place to be.

I completely agree!I've through IGN's forums and can't believe the things people post there, how people are treated,so on and so forth.Because of places like that, that's what made me afraid to join here.I'm glad I was wrong.

You want to see metal heads act like little gossipy bitches? Check out Blabbermouth news section. I only lurk but there are some ridiculously funny posts!

Blabbermouth gets out there. Some people post things like  'Metallica has been all down hill since Kill Em All'. It is a good place to learn how to troll if desired. Blabbermouth- come for the 'news' and stay for the message boards! It is to the point where actual bands cite Blabbermouth for their gossip! You can actually find some cool stuff there from time to time.

I give them a look. What you describe reminds me of browsing the comments on YouTube.I was listening to the new Nine Inch Nails there and there was some guy that kept messing with everyone who liked it,really made me wonder what he was doing their then I realized he's just trolling

You Tube is all over the map. Out of the blue someone comments on bodily functions or some irrelevant BS. Sounds like an infantile basement dweller with internet capability that mom and dad pay for.

"Some people post things like  'Metallica has been all down hill since Kill Em All'."

Rubbish.  Everyone knows they've been all down hill since Master of Puppets.

Metallica has sucked since Ron McGovney left before KEA!

That is the type of stuff seen on BM.

Honestly, Kirk has gone down hill since Justice. Made some decent leads on DM and Hardwired here and there though.

Then there was Some Kind of Monster, which was The Thing That Should Not Be!

This is the type of shit you see on Blabbermouth. Great fun!

Porn? No, but some make innuendos and such. It is a case of identifying a poster who is notably dirty and everyone expects a certain kind of post from that individual. Then there are actually well educated music buffs who weigh in. It is fun. And then there are bands like FFDP and Nickleback who most love to hammer on although they have high record sales.

Honestly SM, MOP is my favorite. Justice would have been WAY better if Lars didn't shut the bass track off in the mix stage. It was really good but some of the songs seemed long for the sake of being long- Frayed Ends of Sanity for example.

I meant St Anger but yeah that whole era sucked and I respect Jason for bailing!

Except for one or two songs, Hardwired is awesome! It sort of spans their history except St Anger. If you liked KEA-ReLoad, you will enjoy! Some songs took a few listens to lock into but I really like it.
